Holy dog shit are you for real? Yes...it was me who said you were trying to turn him into Mr.Universe....from the comments directed at him...which I responded to. Which is the whole point I'm trying to make.
Jesus christ.
Don Carlos wrote:Obviously getting out and walking around etc is better than doing nothing, but as far as I'm concerned exercise requires an accelerated heart over a prolonged period of time, or a physically challenging.
Yeah...you tend to do that on a long, hard ride.

Show me; quote the posts that prove we were trying to turn him into Mr Universe. The posts directed at Ryoki specifically.

get some goals otherwise you're just chasing your tail
Why do you obsessive cunts think everyone's trying to be Mr.Universe?
wtf is wrong with you people today?
The entire tone of this thread is "be serious or gtfo" and to that I say "go fuck yourself". Do I really have to go back nearly 70 pages to prove it?
Stop being deliberately stupid, it doesn't suit you.

Yes. I see. I see from that quote exactly where Andyman typed out how Ryoki should train, how hard he should train, what he should eat, what weights he should be looking to shift etc.
Oh no, wait, I see Andyman asking if he had any goals and saying that he should probably get some. Ryoki then said he was happy with what he did and that was that.
Why are you so intent on making this more than it is?
And yes there are serious discussions in here as some people want to make changes to their life style and improve there fitness and well being or generally push themselves further. It's useful to get info from other people who do the same things and are passionate about it.

GONNAFISTYA wrote:Ok...so lemme get this straight: if you're not working towards a goal you're not exercising?
Like I alluded to earlier, you guys are bringing obsessive attitudes to give advice to someone (Ryoki) who doesn't have the same goals (if any) as you. If someone spends their entire life unhappy with their bodies and continually have the goal to "improve" then you truly are missing the point I'm trying to make.
rofl the only one in this thread that is missing the point is you. The only posts containing the words "Mr. Universe" are yours, and you are the one single poster that is mad over advice that was never given.
wait.... plan bozo is still mad.

Rubbish. You've gotten your arse in your hand for no reason and know you are being tetchy about it after realising you might have over reacted.
Man up and admit it. Everything is back to normal then.

the difference between these pics is 4 months of training, doing 2 working sets of weighted dips and squats on mondays, and weighted chins and deadlifts on fridays.
As I said, not optimal, but certainly possible.
Congratulations, you put on some bodyfat by eating more.

That's seriously pathetic...no joke...
I could have never trained a day in my life and still have a vastly superior physique to you.

Explain how I got to dipping and chinning 100+ pounds, and flat pressing 90 lb dbs for reps doing those movements precisely ONCE a week then (6-10 reps per movement per week).
That's hardly treading water - those strength gains accumulated over time.

Because you're a beginner. Those are noob gains. Once you are an intermediate/advanced lifter, you go from putting on 15-20 lbs of muscle a year to 5, then 3, then 2, etc.

Any tips on locking out shoulders with overhead squats?
110lb OHS yesterday but I struggle with keeping my shoulders locked and I wobble? Or is this also a case of not having enough core strength?
My legs are more than strong enough to lift this weight, so they are not the issue.

Lol jesus, looks like my innocent question led to a whole thing I was just wondering about the mechanics and if i was doing it right or wrong, which has been answered. Thanks Andy and feedbag.
I'm not working towards a long term goal at all, the only two reasons i go to the gym are 1) to not become a fat motherfucker, which i find hard if i don't work out since my girl is a goddamn excellent cook and i quit smoking and 2) because working out makes me feel good physically and mentally for something like 24 hours afterwards. I quite like the feeling of aching muscles.
Of course i challenge myself when working out, i always try to do a little more a little longer on every machine i use. Mostly i succeed in that, sometimes i'm weak and i don't succeed. Don't really care if that happens, i'm pleased that i went to the gym in the first place. I'm just not all that interested in taking it further than what i do currently, and don't have an abstract goal of having a particular physique or weight.
tl;dr, i'm a gym noob and happy to remain one. Was just asking for some advice.
