Yes, I was surprisingly underwhelmed by both this movie and Munich. Both had great actors, great stories, and suitable levels of gravitas. But they doled out the dramatic tension in such miniscule bits hither and yon, they failed to grab me. Narratively speaking, they weren't nearly as powerful as they should have been. Certainly watchable once, but that's about it.

I got this because it was directed by Luc Besson (from The Professional/Leon). The whole movie is an ego trip for Luc. Linear boring plot. The Japanese chick in it is hot, though.

Bridget Jones' Diary 9/10
Now I can enjoy a chickflick as much as a woman can, but there is a limit. This movie is the pinnacle of Chick Flickism, and they made sure there was nothing in there to enjoy for a man. Since I hated it, it did its work as a chickflick supremely well. The only reason I didnt give it a 10 is because I had a chuckle once.
Magdalena Sisters - 3/10. Totally pointless movie about irish girls in a monastary. Runtime is about 18 days and nothing exciting happens, ever.

Pirates of the Carribean 2 - 3/10
What a piece of shit. 2.5 hours long and the only bit of plot happens in the last fucking 15 minutes, LITERALLY!
It's like the producers were saying 3/4 through the movie "Hmmmm, there's no more trilogy movies out there right now so why don't we make a pointless sequel!?"

Enjoyed the whole cannibal scene, some nice inventive things there, but after that it kind of fell flat.
Was shifting buttocks, wondering 'when is this going to end?', and then, when it did, it felt rushed and about the lamest interlude to another sequel I've seen.
Still going to see PotC3, though :icon30:

The Italian Job (the original) - 3/10 Uninteresting, unrealistic, unfunny, and uninspired. Michael Caine wasn't even any good in it. A few parts of the Mini chase were cool, but that's about it.
Murder on the Orient Express - 8/10 Classic whodunnit. The ending was predictible, but the way Poirot comes to his conclusions is interesting. It would have been better if there was more setting than just the train (a la Silver Streak), but I'll let that slide. Great acting all around, except for a laughable death scene. More character development would be nice, too, I guess, but that's getting picky.

w3rd he plays that role quite well. also its good the director didnt make him play his standard comedy routine.
the cinematography of that movie is also brilliant. the fact that in his 'realm' (his office) the overwhelming color is blue, and in her realm its red.
also, what i found to be brilliant was when he arrives in Hawaii and he's trying to call the girl (name escapes me atm.. Lena ?) on the payphone.. its late in the afternoon when he starts his telecommunative quest, and the second he finally reaches her all the street lights go on. great stuff :icon14:

For a war movie, i thought it took a pretty uncommon stand on things. No real action, a little drama here and there, pretty bland stuff. Meant as one guy's somewhat dissapointed story of his experiences in the second gulf war.
