Well it's almost 8 pm eastern. If you'd like, get in 70.86.55.19:16567. It's our Ranked BF2 server.

Skills gained from BF Vietnam. :icon31:
But if you get a good joystick it shouldn't take more than 5 or 6 games.

i have a decent logitech joystick, but I can't get the chopper flight down...
What is your config like for the planes and choppers?
I tend to fly too low, and when I try and get altitude I start to lose control...and I find landing a bitch too...

I have a logitech extreme 3d pro joystick and I haven't tweaked anything.
Landing takes a little getting use to and then you need to learn how to hover. Once you get those down you'll be ok. All it takes is a little practice to learn how the chopper responds to your joystick. The other problem is all of the different choppers repond to the controls differently. It sucks when you fly the attack chopper alot and get use to how it flies, then get into the transport chopper. Avoiding the surrounding landscape can become a serious problem if you don't adjust quickly.
You should find an empty server and practice flying, then do some single player stuff. After awhile it'll all come together.

tnf, you should check out this link:
http://www.planetbattlefield.com/bf1942 ... manual.htm
Extensive tutorial, it is based off the previous BF games, but it very much applies to BF2
I use the mouse+kb to fly choppers, perhaps you might want to give that a try, it may be easier for you.

I was there for a little while today. I noticed a bunch of eggs in one basket, so I shot at it.

What I meant was -
I've heard some folks use left and right on the joystick for rolling left and right, and then use A and D to turn left and right. I am currently using left and right on the joystick to turn left and turn right, and A and D to roll left and right. When you fly, do you use the chase view or the view from within the cockpit?
I have the same joystick also - pretty good value for the price.

I use the joystick for all of the controls and I always fly from inside the cockpit. Sometimes I'll change my POV while capping a flag or flying to check for the enemy.

It's not just me in that black hawk. I have an entire squad with me. (1) six man squad in a black hawk will win a game and score a shit load of points every time. Especially since we're all on team speak. I'll be the squad leader and medic. We'll have two guys as mechanics, repairing all the time. Two more guys on the guns and another guy as support. Playing like that, it's almost impossible to take that chopper down. I've played entire games without being shot down or having to land, all my guys who get shot out just respawn in the chopper.
Good times...

You'd get shot down by a chain gun if my team and I we're flying. But I'm sure you'd make a run for the chopper pad to reload and repair before you got completely eliminated.

The black hawk is a flying tank and with two engineers repairing it, it almost never goes down.
