True, I thought we were discussing the disposal of bulk data, which applies to 700+ MB. Also, be aware that if your OS has a journaling file system, a wiping utility may not be completely effective.

one of my 1997 burnt cds of treasures got crushed internally once, cracks all over the blue film crap

and never could be read in my cd rom drive again, and also it would explode in a hi-speed'er, and everyone uses 52x cd-rom drives nowadays, so if they try to recover your data, their drive will be busted into shit heh

I scratch both sides of the discs (+ extra screwdriver scratching on the metallic film to make sure it flies off) on the garage floor by standing on them and spinning, weeee.
And then I break them. :D
