thats what I thought.
I dont need cable connection on my laptop, my roommate has an old iMac, so she does, but doesnt work.
If I disable wireless on the router 2, should this make a difference at all?
I dont think so tbh, its the wired connection that fails

could try and disable it, never know. cables are good? straight throughs?

it should have no problem. using just the wired ports(not wan port) it "should" behave like a switch and not do anything else.

just tried it myself using a second router as a switch and had no problem getting dhcp from my first router.

so i dunno whats going on with that router you have.

one last thing. some routers share wan port with port1. are you using port1 and wan on router1?

yes, but it has a seperate WAN port :S

never mind, Ill just fuck about until it works :p

meaning don't use wan and port1 at the same time.

I decided to say 'fuck it' and just wire my roomgirls iMac straight up and forget about the extra wireless network on floor 3 :(
