All of which are available NOW for DS.

you still need to buy the media kit and the wifi adapter unless you have a wireless router already.

No you need to buy a wifi adapter if you want to play it on the internet. You can use wifi locally with the core unit.

It's not a media kit. It's a cartridge that goes in your normal gba slot.

And? Lets face it your not going to want to watch films on it anyways. It gives me a head ache after 5 mins, plus the sound it produces is so quiet its a crime.

And as for wireless, whats your point? The DS is better already because you needa wireless router for both anyways, but you have to pay for PSP online, whereas DS is free, and the PSP only works at YOUR home, or a place where you know the person. The DS works anywhere with a wifi connection, and has the ability to add one for cheap if you just have a standard connection. The PSP cant do that.

eye...the sound from PSP movies is ridiculously quiet unless you are wearing headphones. And trying to watch them in the car when it is light outside is nigh impossible unless you set up some sort of box to view it in.

Although, one thing I would like to see for the PSP...make it a GPS navigation device using a USB attached thingy.

Any chance of that happening you think?

you can't use the psp wifi at any hotspot? news to me. i'm not talking JUST about games either.

and i thought the DS wifi hotspots were only in select areas. as far as i knew, you couldn't connect to a open wifi network unless it was specifically setup for the DS.

there are hacks for it already. doubt if Sony will release such a thing, but perhaps a third party.

I'd LOVE to play old roms on the psp.
Heh... no offense man, but for someone that had written his phd thesis you seem pretty stuck on how to tinker with the psp. :icon31:

I will write a little guide thread for you next week if you wish, with all the stuff needed to get the nice games working. You remember the lucasarts dos games like indiana jones? Well you can play all that.

I'm talking in terms of games, and games only. At this point, I am disappointed with the 'fun factor' of most of the PSP games.

while doing some research, i found this retard review from IGN:
Our smooth first experience with WiFi gaming on the PSP should come as no surprise, considering the systems were separated by no more than two feet and we had just two players playing simultaneously. We'll be sure and put the PSP and its games to a more trying test following launch on Sunday.
so wait, readers have to wait because they couldn't get up and move further away from each other? what a terrible ploy to get people to read the next article.

i quoted your post where you were referring to the movies.

yea, and the critique of the movies wasn't a comparison to the DS. It was a critique of the PSP on its own merits...

i realize this, but it's still better to watch it on a psp than a ds.

I got a handful of free psp umd movies, I'd say as far as watching them it's not so bad, it has some enjoyment. Esp. if you can find a nice comfy place to watch them.

However I wouldn't and won't buy any movies myself unless something amazing was out. Simply because they cost the same as regular dvds and they don't have any special features included, so I'd rather go for a dvd.
