Why hit the pentagon and the towers? One of those targets would have been enough to convince the US of a terrorist attack.

Cause the part of the pentagon that was hit was being renovated anyway so they probably figured, why not?

As far as your first point goes...

No building may have collapsed due to a plane/fire, but no building had ever been smashed by a fully fueled 747 going full speed at a downward angle with its wings tilted to inflict as much damage to as many floors as possible, spewing jet fuel throughout dozens of floors.

And as far as the buildings falling straight down, it's a matter of physics. A building of that sheer size and weight can ONLY fall straight down.

I didn't bother reading the rest of the post because the bullshit of the first point made was enough to give me an idea of the futility of my efforts.

I'm pretty sure it WAS a plane that flew into the Pentagon.

But what about WTC7 collapsing without being hit by anything?
What about the black boxes the FBI recovered, but refuse to let anyone look at?
What about the fact that we have the most advanced military defense systems in the world, and have responded very, very quickly to all hijacking attempts in time to stop them in the past - yet some guys from caves who had a hard time even piloting small planes, were able to break through all of our well-honed defenses, and not only explode two commercial airliners into the landmarks of one of our largest cities, but were also able to completely destroy a part of our entire military command complex?

The official explanation for 9/11 is nothing more than an elaborate conspiracy theory with popular support.

I thought WTC7 was hit by the other buildings coming down on top, and the foundation getting destabalized by the same destruction. Dunno though. I do think it was all airplanes, and not some rigged event where they employed demolition to make the situation bigger and part of some scheme.

Yup, those black boxes were found by firemen on the scene, but the FBI quickly confiscated them. All 3 buildings falling down perfectly and neatly is NOT realistic physics. They were taken down in a set pattern using demolitions.

Just a while ago, a plane crashed into a large building in Iran, yet the building did not crash down.

Again, demo was used on one of the buildings, it's a fact. If you want to believe that it would be unrealistic or impossible for any of the other buildings to be done the same way, that's fine - but say it that way, instead of making it sound like something that could only happen in an alternate universe when in reality it happened right across the street.

edit: I can almost picture you using your hands for "finger quotes" around "rigged event" and "employed demolition" and "some scheme" -- just like I can picture you doing anytime you use the word "leeeeeeegal."
