Hey this could deffo work if everyone is willing to co-opperate with each other. Like someone said earlier, in industry you have to be prepared to have your work tore to pieces or even scrapped.

If a system is worked out, so that each person is allocate a certain ammount of time with the project, and a design, style etc. is agreed on before it starts, like samatra said.

So who actually wants to do this then? And what would the design be like? If we put our heads together we could create some amazing artwork.

Maybe if different artists are designated before aswell? Say if there were moddelers and texture artists and so on?

I don't know, maybe i'm butting in a little here, maybe it's not my place to start chanting about it being a bit of a noob here and all.

[EDIT] Just read my post over there and realised that sounds a bit strict. I diddn't mean it to.. should still be fun regardless.

alright... well, lets get a list of people who have the time and are interested to work on this. I personally wont have time this month but sometime in early June Ill have a bunch of free time.

Theme Idea:

Maybe... Horror/Macrabe? Sick. Get as dark, revolting, and offensive as humanly possible and throw out a map that would shock, awe, and disgust all at the same time.

1920s - 1930s - go for the unique style of the architecture during this time period. Chicago is a city that comes to mind in this. New York maybe...

Any others?

Both good ideas, but I think for a project like this it would be easier to pick a texture set to use rather than such a specific theme as that would more than likely require a lot of new textures to be made. Just a thought.

Actually this did come to mind about an hour after making the post heh :icon32:

I think that if we get set on a theme we can then go about choosing a texture package to work with rather than choosing textures and choosing the theme to work with from there.

Sure. Put a file in my hands any time across the next 2 months with some instruction on what needs doing, give me a few days, and I'll have it back to you.

I'm not up to invest too much in one of these until someone actually passes me a map to work on, since my experience is they don't often get off the ground.

So someone needs to come up with a level plan and an idea, if no one else does it soon, i'll do it.

Regarding the Ld PTM. It's a good example of things that can go wrong, going wrong. We lost one mapper and the problem that remains is his area. The rest is done, but I have gotten the .map file from him yesterday so we can finish it up. I'm interested in participating in this one too btw.

orly?

wow I completely forgot about this thread. Hell I forgot about Quake3World.

I've put all my tools away for what seems like will be a very long time. I have other things Im working on now in RL so I dont have any time to make maps or mods anymore. Its a damn shame =\

Good luck to those who still want to do this though. :icon26:

You have no idea how awesome my part looked. It made the rest look like a borefest, no offense to everyone.

If anyone has $1600 for Data Doctors to restore that old hard drive, fork it over and the map is yours.
