CPU is a little bit worse than the xbox. GPU is miles better. Rams ok but not amazing. However the games dont need to run in HD either, and TBH they look fantastic for such a small ammount of power.Yeando wrote:Well if it does come out it should look at least as good as RE4, which is a good thing yeah?
Is Nintendo still keeping their mouth shut about the Wii's power though?
Isn't it twice as powerful as the Cube? If that's true the games should still be pretty sexy considering the best looking game of last generation was on the Cube.o'dium wrote:CPU is a little bit worse than the xbox. GPU is miles better. I cant stand the bloody thing. Even my RTS mad friends dont really like it. The general thing is "it could of been more". Stuttering, poor zoom levels, animations are awful and sometimes have the same animation playing with loads of units, the new "OMG amazing!" control system sucks ass etc... Its one of those games that you really should rent before you buy just to be sure.
If you liked it on PC you will like it here after getting around control issues. Its exactly the same.
I have it coming as a rental from gamefly. I just thought it might look nice on the new LCD with the dolby digital cranked up (since I don't have to worry about apartment neighbors I can finally use my surround system). I am finding I really enjoy games more when I can have the volume up loud enough to feel 'immersed'. Couldn't do that at the apartment.
I'm not RTS fan, so I won't have any expectations for the game...if there are decent battles I'l be happy enough.
I'm just starting Prey now...fuck oh dear why do voice actors in games have to be so bad?
And I am tired of the 'hey lets make every object move...lets have some beer cans and garbage cans that will move when he bumps them, and even when he doesn't...that will show off our gaming engine!"
But it will probably get better once I'm out of the bar.

Uh:o'dium wrote: Your kidding me? Your saying that Mass Effect doesn't interest you at all? Not even BioShock, which looks to be the best game coming out pretty much EVAR?
Reading Comprehension for the win. Neither Bioshock nor Mass Effect are 2006 titles (2007 for the former, a speculative Winter 2006/2007 release date for the later. Winter starts December 21 in the Northern Hemisphere. An early 2007 release date for Mass Effect is most likely given developer comments recently.)KingManULTRA wrote:There are exactly 3 titles on that list that'll be good/great in 2006:

Haven't tried it yet. Hope to get to it tonight. In all honesty, I'll probably play CH some more, I'm hoping that it gets better. Part of the problem is that the damn mech is slow, which is fine except for the large distances you have to traverse.
I don't have the manual, since it's a rental, but is there a way to re-arm?

the only mech game I played was that one for the xbox with the giant controller...steel battalion. there were like 40 buttons, was really cool looking when the mech started up and the graphics were pretty good for an xbox game, but you only seemed to use a few of those buttons as I recall and it just felt awkward.
Cool idea though...
