25 minute bike ride, 30 in winter due to some of the residential streets backed up every 2 or 3 years when it actually snows :icon30:

30 minute drive on surface streets, 15 minute drive on the highway.

I generally take the surface streets though. There's some relaxing aspect to it.

I have to use city streets because highway on-ramps get very congested around here.

takes me about ten min. each way.

but when I get to work, the real driving starts to the tune of about 600 miles a week.
I hope the interview I have tomorrow will put an end to that

work, max of 40-45 min bike ride one way, min of 20 min (depending on where I meet a student)

I think I've used public transportation once or twice in the last year.
That's a pretty long bike ride. You do it in the rain/snow?
yep all year round. Can be quite exciting going down hills when the ice isn't cleared properly :p

after an hour in a traffic jam, had to drive along a street under 2 feet of water to get home from work today. there was very heavy rain this afternoon and the drains, which are nowhere near fit for purpose, couldn't handle it.

there were people with small/low cars with the common sense to turn around when they saw the flooding, but not many. fortunately, some old bloke came out of his house and started directing traffic so that cars in each lane could take it in turns to go along the street one at a time.

the highlights for me were a powder-blue chavmobile with steam/smoke pouring out of it, a lexus 4x4 that'd short-circuited into a 2.5 ton shimmering paperweight and some prick who was having a panic attack in the car next to ours during the jam. it was like he thought it was the end of the world, thought he was going to abandon his car at one point.

I have a carpentry business. I drive for probably 5 hrs a day (on the days I actually work all day) total about 150-200 miles. My new office is about 5 minutes from the house tho. I wish I could hang out there all day. I'm thinking about hiring a foreman so I can.

if i take the most direct route, the highway which has a speed limit of 55 mph, then it would take me about 30 minutes each way for work. if i take the roundabout backroads that dont go over 45 then it takes me about 15-20 minutes each way depending on how i hit the lights.

for school it's 15-45 minutes depending if i have to hit the road during rush hour or not--there are no back roads so i have to take the shitty highway.

About 15 minutes each way. 10 minute walk to the bus stop, then like 3-4 minutes on the bus, then a minute walk to work.

Pretty much 20 min one-way to everywhere within Hannover as I live 5 min from Hannover Central Station. Sometimes 25.
