i like basses at least 25 years old

so they know they been a bass for a while and are good at it

Heh... we're coming out of the woodwork. I'm in Minneapolis.

@plained: she's into all kinds of stuff. Mostly classical/orchestral, but she also likes jazz (esp. gypsy jazz like Django Reinhardt) and folk. She's big into Sinatra, Herb Alpert, Allison Krauss, Diana Krall, Trampled By Turtles, John Denver, Martin Sexton, etc...
Then again, she absolutely loves Cake, System of a Down, Tool, Alice in Chains, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Soul Coughing, Rusted Root, The Presidents, Toadies.
And she's a huge sucker for Rage's "Killing In The Name"

I suspect she'd mostly play funk or jazz bass, a la Flea or Tim Commerford. :shrug:
