Hmm, I've seen some IC flicks and for the most part enjoyed them, mostly short stories though. Wasn't Der Untergang independent?

You're studying drama aren't you? I would have thought you'd be right into Independent films. Dendy is a good example in Australia, although they do let the odd mainstream film slip in, like Casino Royale.

theres a diff between mainstream vs underground and pop vs indie mind

a movie geared towards the mainstream can still be an indie film

:olo: yeah right.

2007 is the year of "lets cash in on one more movie in this tired series!"

spiderman, rambo, oceans 13, horny potter, pirates of the crapabbean, shrek3, die hard: with a wheeze, the borne catastrophy... blah, blah, blah...
i think that's 3 or 4 people who've made this observation now

speaking of johnny depp, which we weren't, if you're such a great fan of his, you must have seen 'the ninth gate'. it's one of the few decent johnny depp movies i've seen, along with that hunter s thompson thing with penelope cruz

i've not seen willy wonka, but if his other costume efforts like arsebandits of the gayrribean and that wanky hollow nonsense are anything to go by, it probably stinks

Not seen any other than Pirates, Sleepy Hollow, and Secret Window. I tried to watch Ninth Gate a while ago but couldn't contain the boredom and shut it off.

so you've seen all his pants movies but none of the good ones

the ninth gate is awesome, even if it was made by a paedophile

To me films require thought and movies dont.. so transformers, harry potter, and potc aren't films. The Simpsons and Spiderman have the potential to be films.

Oh and someone mentioned flicks.. those require bodies, explosions and thick austrian accents

n how about Fear&Loathing?
I personally dont like the thing but I can put that aside and acknowledge Depp's acting skills in that one.

Well i am happy enough being entertained by these so there we go. If you others have your head to far up your arse to realise that there is nothing wrong with a bit of mindless entertainment then thats fine.

Roll on 2007 for some good films :)

i'm looking forward to spiderman 3. I really liked the first 2 in the series and having seen the trailer for 3, the Sandman effects look awesome.
