I liked VE cause he seemed a very nice guy when you talked to him on ICQ. He was always a bit sketchy though. Looks like he screwed a few people.

Same here. I never had anything against him, he seemed to be a straight-up guy, pretty smart, too. But, who the hell knows who inter-people are really like?
He totally smashed rep, so at least he's got that going for him.

damn I never saw that thread. that sucks, I know how much work you put into that.

VE screwed me over as well. I had a small site hosted with him for a couple years when the domain name expired (my fault for not noticing i guess). It had a 30 day grace period to renew, so I tried to contact him. After a bunch of unanswered phone calls and posts to his support forum, I decided to just move to another provider. this was a site I payed monthly for, so it was just a business decision to move. all I needed from him was a 10? digit number for authorization of the domain name transfer. weeks of emails, posts, and phone calls to him were just unanswered and I ended up losing the domain name.

Yea I remember VE being around, and I remember him being a dick a few times too. Never would have pegged him as a con artist by any means, but I was always less than trusting of him for some reason (as far as internet trust goes).

He had some good discussions here, and I remember when he destroyed rep too. But there were other times, where it seemed he was being bitterly vindictive toward people who hadn't really done anything to him - that's what turned me off to him.

Guess it was the DT's.

I didn't and it crept into the back of my head while reading the blog. Sounds like this pansy has a personal beef with VE, but I also think some of it is noteworthy--esp. if you have a need for reliable hosting services in the near future.

I will say the blurbs about his doubts the power outages, lightning strikes and other accidents that truly happen to host sites was purely fucking garbage speculation, so I'm leaning between defending the easily targeted nutcase VE and this obvious moron with a vendetta.

I just finished reading the blog entry though, and if all that guy says is true -- about the multiple names and being wanted for fraud, and having served time, etc. -- then it's hard for me to have any sympathy for him.

And VE's emails to the guy, after the post, sound just like a con man who has been called out. And the fact that he asked for a business check to be made out to an alias of his should have been a "WTF?" moment for anyone.

I really don't like Stark anymore than I did VE but what cracks me up is VE always acted like his shit didn't stink - beyond the usual power tripping this place is famous for - and was so much better than everybody else, especially me with all the white trash bullshit. Shittalking is one thing but you could really tell he felt he was above the rest of us.

JT tried to play up on the sympathy with this dude's wife about the seizures....

Well, the siezures JT had were from pain killers..... the drinking was slowed because it was substitued with pain pills. He bullied me out of my car and my money each week to go to Tijuana to get Ultram pain pills and loaded up on 75 pills per day. He had no job at that time. The EMT's were at MY house ( I say MY HOUSE because I was the one paying the bills) two or three times a week because he went into seizures from this indulgence in pain pills.

It was shortly after this that I decided to get my own place and get the hell out.
