terrible. first i had to enter rediculous specs, then i have to do this ghastly captha thing that only shows the letters "invalidcode" as the string.

apparently, its very hard to make a decent download service

I got in. I actually have an AMD 2800 but it's OC'd to AMD 3200 speed, runs Q4 and D3 really smooth..

it's a beta. they wanna limit somewhat the different hardware so they don't get a big cluster fuck of old hardware probs to deal with.

I'll be playing most of the day tomorrow.

it didnt let me in even with higher specs then yours, clearing cookies and selecting even higher specs also didnt let me in

Max ive seen 12 seeders. Generally with 2-4X the leechers.

Id kinda like to grab this in an hour or so. 15 meg line and im sitting waiting in a queue.

i only saw 2 torrents, one was terrible and the other had a german nfo. that one was pretty fast, 400kb/s

So, initial impressions: not that good.

For those of you who were hoping it would feel like Q3 - sorry, it doesn't. There is no Q3-ish movement, no proper strafe jumping. It feels much more floaty (a la UT2004). It's not that fast either. People were saying it's must faster than BF2, I don't agree, maybe it's a little faster, but not enough to make a big difference.

Audio is pretty bad, weapon sounds are weak and it's hard to determine direction and impact. Big lack of good feedback when you get hit, you don't "feel" it, have to look at the health bar all the time. I find this very annoying.

One good thing is the hit sounds when you hit an enemy, they are nice and distinct. An additional bonus is that you hear when your deployable hits something too, if you play as constructor/engineer.

The vehicles are a mess. Think "floaty tank" from Q4. Not even in the same ballpark as BF2. You get no feedback whatsoever when you fire a vehicle mounted weapon. Lack of audio feedback when reloading. No sense of direction in turreted vehicles (since you don't see the body of the vehicle). No hitsounds for vehicle weapons? I'm sorry but they suck royally.

I'm going back in now, have mostly played Strogg so I'm going to try out the GDI, but so far unfortunately I'm not very impressed.
