WHat are the odds of getting hit by a plane while skydiving? I have a feeling that guy has a different opinion, on weather skydiving is safer than crossing a street. After that close call. Wow, he has a great tale to talk about now. :D

There is no way that pilot could of seen him in time to do anything, he would look like a bird, flying far away. Considering the speed of the plane, by the time he gets close enough to see him, it's close enough to be to late to do anything.

Starting at 4 seconds in to the video, you can see the plane coming in, just to the left of the middle of the screen. Pilot probably can't see him that high up, and above the cockpit. You can actually see the plane coming in hot and heavy, right for the skydiver. Then the guy notices the plane and pulls his chute, just in time to save his ass.

This must really fucking suck. Skydiving instructor became quadrapalegic mid-air when he collided with someone.

Actually watching skydiving near misses has made me feel safer, because it clearly demonstrated two things. Human error is the deadliest mistake. And no mater how much shit you think you are in, you can do something about it to save yourself. Screaming fuck all the way down is not one of them.
