Whenever I reinstall any of my systems, the Quake games are always the first to get reinstalled.
Q2 Q3 and Q4 are always installed even if I havn't played them in months. Sadly, I have never played Q1.

lol..i remember playing that no0b julios on quake2 the edge map when he was on dial up...he was a well known one map wonder player back then...if u could get him to play a different map it was a sad display of 'how not to play quake'...

edge was fun for a while, but once people got low ping and figured it out it got really dull. i'm remembering championship matches of big tourneys that ended 2-1 on that map while they just camped opposite corners and banked everything on last-second cess. **yawn**
q3 devs learned from that and spread goodies around... then TMP and eventual pro versions of the main comp maps made them play even better.

when i got my new pc i tried playing q4; it's very pretty, and i liked the 'squad action' feel to it... but it just got boring. so i was forced to delete it and install f.e.a.r.; which was ugly compared to q4 but game play and atmosphere kept me hooked so much i tore through it in 3 days. Just wish it had more spooky (best shoty ever btw).
so back on topic; for MP q3 is still the best game ever; for SP its hard to be q1.

lmfao...I still remember when that self-proclaimed pro from montreal, kuin or whatever is faggot name was, challanged me to a 1v1 in the edge...you should have seen him run away with his tail between his legs pretending his sound was fucked up after I owned his sorry ass out of the scene...and that was a couple of months after I learned to play with a ball mouse...I knew on that day that I was born to become a professionnal quake player...I'm the total package, kid...still have any questions?

I always felt the Q1 atmosphere was pretty rad - tech and gothic maps intermixed - but that the AI sucked, even for those days. I completed episode one on Hard only a couple of days after it was released. No inter-toughness, it just wasn't that hard.
