The in game server browser isn't that good any way. Try using a program like AllSeeingEye or similar.

any others like AllSeeingEye? Looks like it's a PC specific app.

CRAP! why is this so difficult???? ok, got Game Ranger, tons of Q3 games pop up. Every game I tried to join, Q3 would start, get to Awaiting Gamestate and then shut down.

So, I wrote down the IP to try and connect, like tombston3r asked me to try above, and it just hangs there, awaiting gamestate.

What now? Urban Terror is fun, but it's not the same. I want my Quake!!!

pull down the console when its stuck at awaiting gamestate, it might be giving an error.

also, open up ports on your firewall if you havent already.
the awaiting gamestate problem used to be big, but i figured itd be fixed by now

hmmmm.... I pulled down the console, and it just kept repeating "mistyped cd key?" over and over.

In the console, type: /timescale 100

I just checked this out.... and it worked just fine.
/connect q3.vogonhq.com - it's crazy fast, but it loaded right up, no problem.

wt.... now I can't start a single player game or a local multiplayer game!!!! It goes thru the loading screen, and as soon as the match starts, it quits and sends me back to the desktop. I pulled out the vogonhq .pk3 file, and it's still not working.

ioquake did it and works just fine.
