lol he is a walking contradiction... being irrational takes so much effort, its funny that so many people are willing to live their lives in that way.

And speaking of getting back to "business":
Supreme Court upholds use of lethal injections
WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court upheld the most common method of lethal injections executions Wednesday, clearing the way for states to resume executions that have been on hold for nearly 7 months.

The justices, by a 7-2 vote, turned back a constitutional challenge to the procedures in place in Kentucky, which uses three drugs to sedate, paralyze and kill inmates. Similar methods are used by roughly three dozen states.
The governor of Virginia lifted his state's moratorium on executions two hours after the high court issued its ruling.
Guns and killin....guns and killin....guns and killin....

He seems to have his head on straight for the most part...except when he told me proudly,"In Texas nobody fucks with you because - with the concealed weapons laws - you never know who's packing a gun."
I asked him if the threat of people getting shot was the only way to control the populance into acting civilized. He shrugged, said "I guess so" then shut up and concentrated on eating his food. He didn't seem too proud at that moment.
An armed society is a polite society, no question about it. That's not the only factor, but I don't see any problems with that advice.
And Jackal, I appreciate where you're coming from somewhat, but having a gun is always a better alternative to simply sitting and saying "Whoa that motherfucker's crazy." Guns are, at their best, an equalizer. No matter how weak or small you are, a gun puts you on even footing with just about anyone. I'm in favor of more guns, rather than less, to solve violence. As I mentioned earlier in the thread: concealed carry permits don't allow you much room to fuck up and require that you go through a long process to make sure you're a relatively stable individual. I'd rather people were going through that process than owning guns and carrying them to school illegally.
Because that's the real problem with the guns in America; there are a fuckload of them, it would be absolutely impossible to get rid of them, and criminals are more likely than anyone else to carry them around if it's illegal. I'd rather be armed and responsible in nine out of ten conflicts with someone who's armed. :P

This is where I tuned you out.
What a depressing outlook on how to get along.
I love shooting guns...at target ranges. It's hella fun. But I'd be happy to give up that indulgence if it meant melting every gun down into a huge steel dildo.

Of course, reading that much truth was probably really painful.

Especially when you pathetically misinterpret my point because you're a retard who can't even read two sentences without reading in a thick anti-American bias. It's... It's cute. Sorta. I guess.

I read your whole, depressing post. And there wasn't much "truth" to it...it was opinion...yours.
I happen to disagree with you 100%.

Oh, you're right. It's only opinion that a smaller weaker person with a gun is on equal footing with a larger, stronger person.

You got me!
Fucktard.

Nah, it's not. This is the extreme extreme right, but it's easy for guns to solve gun violence. We make it a law that every person my carry a weapon in public, and we make it the death penalty to use a gun in commission of a crime.
Done and done, a whole lot less stick ups, muggings, etc. if you know the guy is packing, and instant death penalty would hopefully make people think twice before sticking a gun in someone's face.
Of course it would never happen and it's crazy, but I think it would work. God would that be a sad day.

No u.
Of course, I talk about a logical reasoning why, but let's all ignore that part in favor of knee-jerk, liberal, anti-gun reactions. God forbid.
Look at the Virginia Tech kid, or any other school shooting. Guns are fairly ubiquitous. Making them illegal won't make them go away any faster; they're still here, after all, and people will continue providing more over our rather porous borders.
There are only two ways to cut down on gun violence; make sure there are no guns for people to use violently, or make sure there are counter-measures when there is someone being violent with a gun. The former is an impossibility in the United States. Can the rest of the class tell me what's left? Someone other than the retards here in the front row?

by that logic, you could also eliminate the guns and just give the death penalty to stick ups

Please, pretty please, never ever ever ever try to back up one of my points again, you complete and utter fucking retard.

Please. Pretty please. Oh my god, I will beg if you want.

How about stop glorifying guns?
How about stop glorifying the police when they shoot someone?
How about...oh fuck it...you're a redneck who thinks the only way to Utopia is go in armed to the teeth.

That's a good start. More Guns, Less Crime is a pretty good one too. A bump in property crimes and a drop in violent crimes occurs when a concealed carry law is passed in a state.

I don't think that guns are glorious, and I don't talk in the least about how they are. And God knows that there's no chance in high holy hell that I would ever glorify the police for shooting someone who didn't deserve it. I've had many an internet argument about how police need to use force as a last resort and stop being so itchy on their trigger fingers.
Do... do you think you're arguing with someone else, or something? I'm just curious what's happening.
But I do think that in a utopian society, everyone would have equal access to power. It stops a lot of victimizations when victims are literally empowered to do something against their attackers with a tool that's made for precisely that. In a utopian society, though, no one would ever fire a shot. Unless they were having funsies at the range or something. :P

Let's all turn into Bulgaria!!! Or...when life is worth less than a pair of shoes...let's just say T.I.A....like they do in Africa.
FFS...the US isn't a 3rd world country run by the mafia and militias...but Americans sure make it sound that way.

Using guns to prevent crime does not necessarily imply that life is less useful. In fact, it can save lives, as the drop in violent crime attests.

Lott specifically broke down criminological data regarding concealed carry laws and their direct effects. How does that not constitute real research, precisely?
I'm honestly curious on that one. If you could turn down the condescension and respond like a grown up, that'd be even more super.

There's some hard data for two states that had concealed carry laws that show an overall decrease in most violent crimes. Utah didn't even have the bump in property crimes that's usually seen. Let me know if this research is valid enough for you, or if you're just going to condescend without any evidence to back up your naysaying; I can always get more.
