Great drummer, amazing feet. Triggers, yes, but he still has to play the pedals. All very technically good musicians.

But seriously, it's absolutely shite music. Theres a zillion fucking angry metal bands that sound like this. The same guitar sounds, the same type of riffs, the same noise, etc.

He beat drums, somebody screamed. Yay.

nothing to see here.

i give you a week to play any of the instruments played in that video and post it on youtube BESIDES the voclas and then you can say that it's not impressive. :D
but the banjo is tough going.

although it sounded good, it was a bit painful to watch. rofl at dude wearing a polo shirt and don't be fucking doing the circular headbang with short hair. gay.

the "glass gargle" scream has been a thing for like a century or so, hasn't it? Not really remarkable to me, but I always admire professionally-played speed metal , which this seems a natural progression of (crossover-punk was the shit in my day).

btw  creep tried to wedge his 2 cents in and the beatdown that ensued somehow yielded change.

So you're saying that you have to be able to outperform anyone in any area in order to critique them? So if I'm watching a race and see a driver smash into another car that's about to pass him I can't say that's stupid because I can't put in a faster lap time? I can't say that Bush is a moron because I couldn't get elected president?
That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I can appreciate the technical ability involved in playing speed metal, I just think it's shit. Someone screaming in a garbled demon voice sounds like hammered shit to me, I'd rather listen to a herd of cats being sodomized with hot curling irons.

to say something is unimpressive and not be able to do it yourself is like arm chair quarter backing, or backseat driving in my opinion. at least say, as you did, that it's good musicianship but not your thing. take joe satriani, i can't sit and listen to his stuff but i would never call it unimpressive because it's not. it's just not my thing. ;)

and i wanted to fuck with him a little bit because i knew he couldn't play it. :p

Been listening to ABRB and Job for a Cowboy for a little while now. Not really a fan of Caliban. I stopped posting new music here because no one ever appreciates it but here's a list of shit I've gotten into recently.

Bands like JFAC are too fuckin' all over the map for me. Also, their vocals are mixed so loud that its hard to understand what the fucking instruments are doing. Maybe it's just the shitty youtoube compression contributing to that, but still... I'd prefer to hear more guitars. Also, I can't stand the JFAC style singing... too much high pitched shrieky style shit.. I can handle just about any other type of growling, yelling, screaming or whatever.. It's that nonstop shrieking thing that I can't swallow.

it gets old, yes. the funny thing is MOST of these bands that are doing this bowel movement vocals try and sound heavy, but really aren't. you don't need that kind of vocal to be heavy. fuck, pantera will smash emotions on all these fuckers and so would slayer. they just sound like they try too hard to be super heavy but fail.

I concur. It's about guts, not speed or uber-scary (lol) demon voices. I suppose I can't single out "metal" for being crap these days when pretty much every genre has more than its share of formulaic shite.
