You should still walk around in the water with a shot gun...

So I found this picture today:

I'm trying to find more information because that picture seems amazingly wrong. But so far all I can find is single sentence coverage such as, "Frustrations spilled over at one checkpoint, where a man was arrested at gunpoint after he tried to drive past police in his pickup truck." At the very least I find it pretty hilarious that the police would rather kill or seriously injure someone, than let them risk their own lives.

Oh, it's not wrong.. It came from the AP. The problem is the officials are hell bent on safety, and people who live in these places are acting stupid. The only difference between Cedar Rapids and New Orleans at this point are the number of black people. And no, there isn't any looting going on. They're worried this guy's truck is going to find a sink hole.

Typical cop logic is all it is. "We can kill or maim you, you just aren't allowed to to it yourself". You guys see the video of the cops and Guard prying peoples doors open to look for "injured" or "trapped" people? Nope. That would be the pigs looking for anything they might find to screw people over with. That's what this lockout is REALLY about. It's not about public safety. It's about the "man" wanting to look around first. If it's my phuqin land, I'm gonna go check out the damages and see if there's anything to salvage before it's too late to save anything. Those cops had heard the whole story of who that guy was before this photo was taken. They wanted to shoot him rather than have their authority questioned in any way. :miffed:

Pigs? The Man? Good god, you sound like geoff.

First of all, the roads he's driving on aren't his land, so he has no right to be on them if they're closed. Secondly, if they don't stop one man from driving through, how will they stop everyone from going through? Keep in mind that if they let him go, and he dies in the river, the police get to take the blame for not stopping him. They're in a lose-lose situation. Don't let logic cloud your bitterness, though.

If he died in that river, only stupid people would blame the cops. I was only half serious with that. But, the half that was serious thinks that there are other people than the government that are intelligent and careful enough to go where they think is dangerous. Just because you wear a uniform doesn't mean that you're the only one qualified to enter a situation like that. Gosh, how DID the settlers survive without all of these brave public servants.
