that sounds like what i would call refresh rate if it were a crt

60Hz is the frequency of na ac power, so i'm assuming that has something to do with it being 60 / 120 in na and 50 / 100 in eu

surely someone is taking teh piss, I never heard anyone quote refresh rates as a relevant sale point for a TV...although it does have an effect on lcd monitors I'd assume it's the same with TeeVees

It is indeed the refresh rate. It will make no difference on HD broadcast or current iterations of digital cable (might in the future, but probably not soon), but with a good dvd player, a 360, or a ps3 you might notice a difference in some cases.

I wouldn't weight it that heavily, to be honest. But if you can afford the 120hz, why not?
