Looks like Fox is throwing a bit of a wrench in the works, suing WB and saying they own the rights to Watchmen.

I'm sure something will be worked out, just a matter of when and how much money.

Excellent.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but the deal is said to involve a sizable cash payment to Fox and a percentage of the film's boxoffice grosses; Fox will not be a co-distributor on the film, nor will it co-own the "Watchmen" property, but it will share in revenue derived from it.
That sounds like a lot of cash.

Just got back from watching it in IMAX. Really good. They absolutely nailed Rorschach.

I'm still impressed that they managed to pull it off. I thought for sure it was going to be, umm, comically bad.

I just picked up the graphic novel tonight for $15. Should I read it first, or watch the movie first?

I bought and read the graphic novel a month or two ago.

I haven't seen the film yet, but I'd say it's worth reading either way. I enjoyed it.

Besides, it sounds like a lot of the negative reviews are based on it being too faithful to the comic (although I've heard that the ending is different). If that's true, reading it may give you some context that you might not have in the movie.

Rorschach is a true to form Randroid, movie did good by him.

Modest expectations, liked it.

spoilers below if anyone hasn't read/seen it

So I finally got around to reading it. I saw the movie first, though. I really didn't like the Black Freighter sub-plot. What was the point? I also didn't like the stupid alien ending of the comic. The movie's ending was WAY better, IMO. I enjoyed both the movie and the novel, but I'm still not sure what all the fuss was about...
