That's what I was wondering. Not much in this thread that actually helps that question either. Just babble...

Check it out. I'm gonna buy it anyway but I was curious. It's very upbeat compared to Load/Reload, even Black Album. I still don't know what to call it... but it is definitely better than the last 15 years or so of stuff from them.

Long songs, cool riffs, solos are back, vocals/singing leave a tad to be desired but whatever.

$15 for a CD is pocket change man. I'd rather buy a CD than waste $15 on a fucking shitty fast food meal or something, eh?

Or I could pay for it cuz I'm a musician too and I appreciate the work that artists put into their work.

Even though most of the money goes to the record companies who don't give a damn about your appreciation? fine then. Lucky me that I'm able to appreciate music, get it free, and still make my own.

If I'm going to buy music, it's a DVD or for a good booklet inside

That's fine. I understand that most of it goes to the record slobs, but it's not like I can write a fucking cheque to James, Kirk, Lars and Rob for $3.50 each or something. It would probably cost more to process that shit than the damn cheque itself is worth.

You must be very lucky, yes.

Well, I for one like to buy CDs that I like so I can get high-quality shit. I know that there are a lot of FLACs around these days, but they still seem to be rarer than they should be and I have a picky ear. I can still hear the compression of a 320kbps MP3 so I prefer to have the CD.

ENGLYISH!

Sorry that you don't have a discerning ear, bud. I do a lot of recording, mixing, fiddling with audio, so I've developed a pretty sensitive ear. Most people can't even tell the difference between a 128kbps file and a CD... 128 sounds horrible to me, almost unbearable. Ever since I got into sound, I rip all my CDs into WAV files.
