I'm in the same hunt myself right now. I've already located the local dog parks and have my 4km run mapped out. My plan is to keep it exhausted enough to not try any thing stupid. And crate training.

Believe it or not, greyhounds (not the Italian minis, who are from hell) are big dog shaped cats. They lay around the house pretty much all day. If you can arrange for its bed to be out of main traffic areas, its a prefect apartment dog.

Coors Light, a tiny dog, and a pic of someone else's kid. I think there might be more going on here than most of you realize.

Your cry for help has been answered. It will be ok.

I have a bird.

Shes loud as fuck, and we live in a condo with 3 other units. Oddly, everyone says they never hear her.

African Grey. Awesome birds. They not only mimic words, but they do voices, and they are dead on with them.

My parents inherited a wild caught from my grandmother (she could not bear to hear my grandfather's voice). My wife and I visited with my dog, and the bird immediately knew it was something it could mess with. It took a few hours of meowing at him before it figured out that copying the neighbours dog's bark would get his attention, and another few to learn how WE called him. So, for the rest of the visit, the bird would yell, "here boy" and whistle, the dog would come running into the room, and look around frantically for us while, I swear, the bird was laughing. Dog would leave, bird would do it again. Hours of fun.

Bloody bright birds.

I just counted up how many dogs I've had in my life and it's over 20 that I could remember. All kinds of different breeds. So I've got a bit of experience with them.

borke, if you're looking to get a terrier, I'd recommend a Jack Russell Terrier, or a Rat Terrier. They're both great dogs. The Jack Russell is one of the smartest breeds in the dog kingdom. And the Rat Terrier is just a fun loving dog.

Now, if you want to go with a mini breed, I'd recommend a Miniature Australian Shepard. Absolutely amazing dogs. It's one breed that will love its owner more than the owner loves it.

This is very true. The Jack that I had was originally mine, but he got attached to my mom and started following her around. He eventually didn't want anything to do with me, but still a great dog nontheless...

I ended up getting a brindle female boxer for christmas. Left my camera back home but I'll see if I can get a few pics up soon.

Was a bit surprised that this breed does ok in smaller areas (but of course needs to be taken out a bit more). She left a few surprises for me already but that's expected with a pup, other than that she's been much better than what I was expecting for one this young.

Other than the fact she snores louder than most grown men I couldn't be more pleased this far with 'er. Anyone have much experience with this type, from what I've been reading (as I knew nothing about boxers until I saw an add for this one) they seem to be a great family dog...

Only thing that pisses me off is the lady didn't chop the tail off soon after birth, going to cost upwards of 300 bucks to get it off now, for the stitches and medication and all, prolly not gonna do it though, seems a bit harsh from what the vet was saying.

edit: and the fact I've never seen a dog spin so fast trying to catch it's tail is another reason I doubting on cutting it... just odd seeing a boxer with the tail. :miffed:

Almost grabbed one of these but he was a much older and the price was just stupid, I really wanted a smaller dog but something about this one, I just had to get it.
