I'm getting a bit confused with all the personal connections and shifting timelines, but I'm enjoying it thoroughly.

Let's see if they can give this season a different 'theme' and feel like they did with the other seasons.

good questions the both of them. One thing I'm confused about is this: after jack and them left the island, didn't the others stay there for 3 years and suffer untold horrors before ben and locke brought them back? But from the islanders' point of view, it's only been a few weeks right? Or what? And the suffering that they endured was the island shifting, right?

Am I the only one that thought watching Iron Chef reruns would be a better waste of time than sitting through the first season of Lost?

The last episode of Lost really restored my faith in the show. SEries 5 so far was mostly full of 1 good episode and the rest naff, but "316" really did make it classic. It was full of twists, full of "Oh fuck" moments, the lot.

Now that Jack and other Losties are on the island again, and stuck in the 1970's, it SHOULD be a lot more interesting again.

gonna get interesting now, but hope they don't waste too much time on the 70's shit.

something i'm thinking:
  • Faraday's flash back to the construction of the orchid was actually a flash forward in time relative to Faradays existence. i.e. it's yet to happen in the current story of Daniel Faraday!
  • Blonde girl who showed Faraday the bomb (Ellie), is Faraday's mum.
  • Seems to obvious but an obvious plot line with the details provided would be Ben killed Penny, was interrupted by Desmond, got fucked up, escaped back to the island, Desmond couldn't make it to the flight and is boating in to the co-ordinates Mrs. Hawking provided as we speak to get revenge against Ben.
  • Charlotte is going to learn Korean from Jin as child, and then get warned by Dan never to come back.
  • Only "non-fucked up" way I can think that Hurley and Kate we're presuaded to come on the flight is from flash-backs of dead people. Claire obviously has an emotional effect when she visits Kate, which would have explained the state Kate was in. Maybe Claire demanded that Kate return without Aaron else Sawyer would die? dunno... Aaron is probably with his grandmother.
  • John will return, but as a "ghost" hanging out in the cabin with Jacob and Christian.... logic implicates he should be in the exact same form as christian.
  • The water bottle found on the beach indicates the flight went down, does this mean we'll have a whole new crew of losties who have crash landed into the 70's? Do the producers really have time for that? There seems to be so much left unfinished and only a season and 1/2 to go.
Thoughts?

Im thinking the same about Ellie. he says she looked familiar, and Mrs Hawking's first name is Eloise. gee.

Expanding point 1, I think Faraday has to help with the construction of the orchid so that the losties can use it to return to the "present" (whenever that is ... lol). So the losties will join Dharma now through lack of other options... the orchid is the only way back and Dharma control the site.

Also a friend pointed out to me today, that to return to the island, they have to return in a similar manner as they first entered in. Thus Desmond couldn't return by flying in, he HAS to boat in... adding to the Ben/Penny/Des triangle assumption.

Hurley was visited by Charlie hence taking the guitar for him to play when he goes back...

I think that Ben tried to get Desmond back, but he smashed him up real good (yay!)

More thoughts to follow...

Something bad has happened to Aaron - remember the whole reason for him being on the Island was to protect him from something. That is why Clare was on the plane because the psyhic dude could see what was going to happen. So he said there will be someone to pick them up when they got to LA and then BAM! Plane goes down.

What has happened to him though I don't know nor can I speculate on...as I have no freakin clue!

hardly amazing. interesting nonetheless.

i kinda dislike this new short-term-memory format btw.
in the previous seasons, shit would come up that wouldnt be touched upon for 4 eps later (if we were lucky). now we see something and it gets explained either the same or the next ep.
leaves less room for theorizing, which is the best part of the show imo
