Calories in < Calories out = weight loss. That's the bottom line.

I had a hell of a beer belly going on last year, part of it was reducing body fat but sorting out my posture and getting a bit of my atrophied abs back helped a lot as well.

Cutting out beer and eating more fibre also helped a lot.

Oh I do smoke. That's probably the only good reason to continue, to help curb my appetite. I'm also doing, in moderation, the occassional peanut butter sandwich as it staves off hunger for a bit longer.

like I said .. fu. Even if the walking doesn't help the weight, I enjoy the walking and it's very healthy. Doing an hour or so a day at a fast pace is stamina building. I'm also going to the doctor tomorrow to get further nutritional advice. So.. once again.. fu.

It's called making an effort to do all the research I can from different sources than sorting the good stuff from the shit. Your diet works for you but it isn't the last word in weight loss.

Or in your case, like asking a couch potato turned professional dishwasher for advice about being healthy...lol...

healthy is easy...eat 5 to 7 meals a day...40/40/20 macro. either 500 over/under calorie maintenance depending on ur goals. no processed foods...about 1 gram protein per pound of body weight...protein sources...fish, eggs, chicken, lean turkey and beef...only whole wheats for complex carbs...a few simple carbs from shit like bananas and raisins. and ur fibrous carbs from veggies...get ur fats from nuts, flaxseed and fish oils...

any other questions no0b?...

I'm back on my eating healthy kick as well. I did very well 2 years ago August 2006 - November 2006 I lost 28 lbs with diet alone. I made some drastic changes to my diet last Saturday. Better foods and snack, eating more often but smaller meals, more fiber and only eating to satisfied not full. Also make sure you are drinking enough water.

At then end of week 1 I'm down 5.6 lbs.

Just by replacing the wrong foods with the right foods for example:

That fat and caloric intake of one meal

McDonalds double quarter pounder with cheese
McDonalds medium Fries

Is actual equal to what I now eat in an entire day

Morning
Coffee
Orange juice
3 Egg white and cheese on a english muffin
Canadian Bacon

Morning Snacks
Jello Pudding fat free snack pack
Peach
carrots

Lunch
Tomato salad with fetta cheese
Yogurt
Small slice of cake (usually chicken or something more healthy)

Mid day snacks
Bowl of shredded oats cereal
Celery and peppers

Dinner
Chicken breast in Spinach and curry sauce
Basmati Rice

evening snacks
Coffee
Chocolate mousse ice cream bar (low fat)

I don't know why, but I LOL'd. Seems to me, when I try to eat healthy, I gain weight. When I eat grease, I trim down. I've been living on swap meet tacos and Carls Jr fer the past couple of months, and I'm down tuh 220 from 250. AND, I even lost a chin somewhere along the lines.

I've got some basmati left over, I fancy that tonight. Not sure what to put on it though. I've had chicken the last 2 nights, and I've got a tin of beef curry but it's got 24 grams of fat and 500 calories. Spinach, yep, I like that. What meat though? I fucking hate having to think about food, I liked it before when I just ate anything. lol.

when something like beef curry comes in a tin, you don't need to look at the nutritional information to know it's crap.

BTW I forgot to mention I ate human sized portions like 1 breast, a pile of spinach and 3/4 cup of rice (since it's a white rice) eat till satisfied

I really miss eating until I cannot waddle away from the table, but I want to be around a little longer so I need to change it now while I'm not over the line of lardass.

Indeed, it's in the bin.

I hear you giraffe. I'm also trying not to eat till full but just satisfied.
I'm now eating basmati, a grilled plaice fillet, spinach ( I should have cooked a bit more spinach), all sprinkled with juice from half a lemon. How healthy is that. :smirk: I didn't know just how quick and easy it is to cook skinned fish. I've always grilled chicken and red meats, but not white fish. This is good education and another food item to add to my future menus.
