lol their age verification thing doesnt work too good.. cant get any lower than 2005.

im still saying, this series never needed a part 3. the story was wrapped up nicely in MP2, and the characters all got their closure.
also, no sam lake. f this

[edit]got it to work. the voice actor is trying too hard and this whole routine has already been done by sam fisher.
as a game it'll probably hold up. there's just no reason to use the max payne universe.

Wait, was that a trailer for the next Far Cry?
What's the sudden obsession with southern hemisphere countries in video games these days? Tomb Raider, Modern Warfare 2, Far Cry, Dead Island and now Max Payne...

Just like we "finally" had the tech to do WW2 games in 2002 eh? :disgust:

looks like I stand corrected, the voice actor for MP3 is the same as MP1 and 2. he sounds different tho, mostly in his intonation

Again, where is the Max Payne in that trailer?

Game looks good, but it's lost it's soul and is about as noir as a fucking rainbow.

Ordered this today from "The Hut"
http://www.thehut.com/elysium.search?se ... filiateWin

Comes with a few blu-rays etc and I had a voucher so I had it for £34

It looks wondeful and the soundtrack is shaping up to be epic as well. The Health track used in the latest trailer is quality

Looking forward to this bad boy!!

So you pre-ordered a special bling bling edition of the game that most people think is just going to be a generic 3rd person shooter that won't have much going for it?

For your sake, I hope we're all wrong.

No I Preordered the standard version of the game that also comes with 2 bluray films, for less than a stardard new release title.

It's R* - what was the last bad game they made?

First couple of reviews I read said it's got none of the humour or psychedelic supernature of the previous games, it gets very repetitive very quickly and that it's overly long. Remember, when it originally came out, the developer specifically noted that they'd made the Max Payne games to be short and tightly packaged.
It was at the forefront of the "Shorter is Better" development movement.

I remember the other games being rather dark and not in slightest bit humourous? I don't want to read lots of reviews as I don't want to spoil the plot, but the Joystiq one says its worth a play and so far every single one of the reviews I have read and then played the games have been correct.

Also Max Payne 1 took about 10 hours, roughly the same playing time as this one?

There was quite a bit of funny in the conversations of the bad guys as i recall, i'd usually wait for them to finish talking before slow motion diving around the corner.

And some of the comic strips deliberately broke the fourth wall. The games were quite famous for it.

Only played an hour of it, but it is nice far. Feels solid and it is not too OTT so far. The animations etc are brilliant as you would expect from a Rockstar game and the general visuals are very good, even on the xbox.

Gonna sink some more hours into this when the weather is shit again, but as it is sunny then I tend to get out as much as I can so games get left by the way side.
