One of my fav. comedies but it's not really a series type of show with continuity ... each episode kinda stands on its own so I didn't bother to mention it

Seconded. Sopranos, Californication, and Dexter are probably the three best shows I've ever seen.

Fucking ace
I just finished season 2 [not as good as season 1 imo] and am completely blown away by how good this show is. I've read about how critically well received it was, and frankly was a bit sceptical at the praise it got relative to other contemporary shows. But after actually watching it, I can see that it's well deserved. Easily as good as The Sopranos, if not better. Favourite characters by far = Omar and Bubbles.
Rome. Again, a bit sceptical going in as I didn't think a 2 season TV show about Rome would hold up in interest/quality for that long. Well worth watching though, I really enjoyed it. The Vorenus/Pullo dynamic added a lot of colour.
I then moved on to Generation Kill on recommendation from here. It was decent I suppose, but greatly diminished in my estimation by the fact that I saw Band of Brothers immediately afterwards.
So yea, Band of Brothers. Makes Generation Kill look pathetic in comparison. Masterfully executed through and through. Can't believe I left it off this long, I got it with the intention of watching it about 3 years ago.
Finally, Firefly was shit
Couldn't put up with it longer than the original 2 episode pilot.

Damnit plained. I hate to say it, but I'm watching that too...
Yeah Russel is a funny bastard. He's starting some shit. I like the villains. They're a hell of a lot mote interesting than the boring "heros".

wtf, i so don't agree with you there
Shows i enjoyed the last couple of years:
Deadwood (the dialogues are just poetry, very excellent show)
Rome (what everyone else said, must see show.... still can't believe it was cancelled)
Generation Kill (excellent dialogues, excellent plot, strong ownage. Several times better than Band of Brothers, which has many Spielbergian elements of extreme sappiness and ... yes, i'm gonna say it: pretty mediocre special effects. Artillery strikes are downright pussy, snow is blatantly fake plastic shit, enemy tanks are the same 3 extremely shiny models used over and over again, etc etc)
Firefly (best SF show ever made after BSG in my opinion, though it does indeed take a few shows before you're dragged in)
The Wire (personally i got tired of it halfway season 3 and stopped watching but it is indeed an excellent show)
err, that's all i got for now

Sons of Anarchy
I had trouble getting through the first episode for some reason, but after that I was hooked. I've been watching sometimes 3 eps a night just because I can't put the damn remote down.
Big Bang Theory
Burn Notice
Fringe
