It was always going to be just an average game. It's just the time taken to release it that makes people think it's going to be anything more than that.seremtan wrote:
smart money says turns out to be just a very average game

What an odd statement. I'm pretty sure they never set out with the brief "make average game".Scourge wrote:It was always going to be just an average game. It's just the time taken to release it that makes people think it's going to be anything more than that.seremtan wrote:

Re: Here we go again (Duke Nukem Forever)
i kinda thought as much tbh. press releases with statements like "the duke never comes early" reek of PR. or, corporate identity

"Duke Nukem never comes early"

Re: Here we go again (Duke Nukem Forever)
I agree, but then again, by mocking your own delay this way, it might work like a lightning rod to divert the attention from the actual delay towards the hilarity of it all.MKJ wrote:i kinda thought as much tbh. press releases with statements like "the duke never comes early" reek of PR. or, corporate identity
If Gearbox simply put out a press release stating that DNF was delayed, they'd be the laughing stock of the industry. Now that they're the first ones to openly laugh about it, the community is forced to be laughing with them rather than at them.
I think the delay is real and this whole humorous fuss around it is to soften the blow.

Wait 'till they get a load of multiplayer Dukes snatching up jailbait 'babes' as a CTF variant, who of course can freak out, but be 'reassured' with a firm smack on the arse.
