I doubt that. You are born into a family, a community that holds certain habits, rules, ethics and beliefs. If christianity is greatly represented in your family, chances are you will be turned towards the religion as well and don't question it since you're indoctrinated with it ever since childhood.

My choice in religion is not the debate.

Some people choose to be athiest, muslim, christian or to pray to joe pesci. It's all a choice, in a matter of fact, the more a religion is pushed on a person the more that person turns away, i've seen it many times.

i think religion prolly originated when humans evolved to the point that they were aware that at some point in the future they were going to die...this caused extreme anxiety so the brain created a delusion (afterlife) so resolve this anxiety...

we need to evolve again to eliminate the delusion...

the delusion is man made and not a byproduct of evolution. it's all about power and manipulation, the poisoning of one people against another to steal their stuff and keep it for a long, long time while convincing "believers" that the natural world is corrupt, separate from them, and meant to be exploited.

That's exactly the type of mindset religion originated from.
Our evolved brain deserves a better vessel I'll give you that. When I was younger I often thought about this issue. How imbalanced and unfair it is for something so fragile to have the ability to think beyond it's own reality. Yet here we are left to our own devices and our own imagination, to make things right again by fabricating life after death.

Seriously, I had a hard time understanding and accepting this great divide between our physical and mental capacity, but I didn't feel the need to fabricate things that don't exist to come into to terms with reality...As a matter of fact this was one of the reasons I was convinced we were alone.

He brings up some valid points but the problem is that many religious people are so stubborn, they'll just say "god moves in mysterious ways" and be done with it. They'll claim that god cannot be explained or defined by reason. So there you are with your water-tight argumentation against god. It just wont hit home.
