Ok I'll bite. The fact that it's harder to control the game with a controller is exactly why it sucks. A player with an XBox controller could never be as good as a PC player (in absolute terms) because the xbox player is held back by his controller. The controller is actually holding him back from becoming as good a player as the PC player. So if you have a PC vs XBox (or Dreamcast) player, the fight isn't about player skill, the fight is about who has the least crappy controller interface.hatepop wrote:Oh so, we have a bunch of PC fan boys that will remain BIASED towards their controller choice on here? Well that's pathetic. Sure the mouse + keyboard combination is good (and I did not at any point say that they are no good), but true Hardcore gamers are good with multi-controllers - not just 1...Duhard wrote:lol...what kind of moron plays q3 with a 360 controller?...anybody remotely excited about news like this should be stoned in the streets
It requires MORE sync work with the XBOX controller, MORE button combos, MORE stick sync work (because there's 2 sticks + a d-pad) ... but with the mouse + keyboard combo you have it all placed out for you, which makes it EASIER to play.
Oh come onhatepop wrote: NOTE: Military Armies AROUND THE WORLD (including US Army) use the XBOX controller to control their gear. So stop being BIASED little fanboys towards your mousie because the XBOX controller is one of the GREATEST controllers ever made.
a speed youll learn to use, whilst cooling down from another weapon.Bacon wrote:how about the fact that on a controller you will most likely use a single button to cycle through weapons. not sure about you guys, but in all the quake 3 games i've played, there's no time for shit like that.

yeah i can see how piloting a predator is exactly like playing a first person shooter video game, except that it isn't in any wayhatepop wrote:NOTE: Military Armies AROUND THE WORLD (including US Army) use the XBOX controller to control their gear. How the fuck does an xbox controller have more buttons than a qwerty keyboard?hatepop wrote:Oh so, we have a bunch of PC fan boys that will remain BIASED towards their controller choice on here? ^That.Memphis wrote:good point. q3a is the only game where i simply had to have every single weapon bound to an individual key
no *whoosh*, just some tiresome back and forth how I say that indeed manipulating a quake model is basically the same as manipulating a flight sim model, except with a few less buttons and parameters, then you having a laugh about my naivete about the complexity of actually controlling a predator, and how those "parameters" make all the difference, then me saying cunt, like you have some sort of inside info, they might as well be bombing taliban with an atari controller for all you know, then you replying with oh dear, you're even more stupid than I thought you were, then me saying well your mother has a moustache, but that didn't prevent me from letting her suck me off, then you saying my mum's been dead for several years so wtf are you talking about, then me saying well I dug her up and had my way with her anyway, and the circle of life is complete again. hakuna matata.seremtan wrote:*whoosh*Plan B wrote:Why do you think controlling a real life predator plane is so much different from controlling a virtual one?
how is quake 3 like microsoft flight simulator?
Absolutely true. Check it out for yourself.Eraser wrote:Oh come onDuhard wrote:

Good button configuration/combo can easliy solve these things... unreal tour. did it nicely.Bacon wrote:how about the fact that on a controller you will most likely use a single button to cycle through weapons. not sure about you guys, but in all the quake 3 games i've played, there's no time for shit like that.
No (you dick), it shows that the XBOX controller a MULTI-use controller. Oh and about ''looking around with the look stick', it's about sensitivity balances between BOTH control sticks... get it right and you'll be turning real fast.seremtan wrote:yeah i can see how piloting a predator is exactly like playing a first person shooter video game, except that it isn't in any wayhatepop wrote:NOTE: Military Armies AROUND THE WORLD (including US Army) use the XBOX controller to control their gear. It's not about buttons, it about how many FINGERS you have...Doombrain wrote:How the fuck does an xbox controller have more buttons than a qwerty keyboard?hatepop wrote:Oh so, we have a bunch of PC fan boys that will remain BIASED towards their controller choice on here?
