Ofcourse the map would need open areas for the skybox :D

As far as I'm concerned everything can be voted for. I think everyone agreed that it should be a small tourney map. If not, feel free to suggest something else. Looking at Sumutra his textures I'm thinking an urban or gothic theme would go well with those textures. What do you all think?

I thought some SIDE open areas :) Not only open areas for clouds.

Well.. but I thought it should be something special, not only recycling of textures and other things :) Now, it means that only Kaz (mapper) will be working and we all other can recycle what we did once again.

It should be something NEW, ORIGINAL and REVOLUTIONARY. Or our approx. six big brains can only collect old things and do new boring (enviornemntaly recycled) tourney map? :)

Well I sort of thought it might not be in the spirit of the thing to use a pre-constructed layout, which is why I made it a tentative proposal ;). Either way, if people want to use it as a base, or incorporate elements, or do nothing at all and start from scratch that's fine with me. Here is the latest version, I tried to find a cleaner version but I don't have one handy at the moment.

I could lend a hand in the mapping process, although the detailing process involves close collaboration with the texturer.

If we take that approach then we got more slots to fill. So far we have:

Anthem - Really wants to do the item placement.
Noruen - Would make the skybox.
Obsidian - Would give the map some polish.

We need someone to build the alpha.
We need a mapper.
Don't know if sum wants to make new textures? Which leaves us in need for a texture artist.
We need an optimizer.

So, who's in?

Maybe i can make some assets. I will be more carefull with the quality of what i do because it involves other people.

Well, I made an calculation and with this tempo we will finish this map maybe by the end of the year 2397 :D So, LETS vote about main theme of the map.

im gonna bail, looks like you got more than enough ppl keen to take part. the :/ was because i was not on ya draft list. but then again. ive been slack as far as mapping is concerned for a while now. starting playing wow instead. oh noes!

For the map main theme i got an idea: A lost paradise with dinosaurs fighting star wars troopers with the music "every body was kungf fighting".

Theme:

Think of the flashbacks in Terminator 1 and 2. Destroyed cities in which humans fight the machines. Lots of grey and blue colors. Some inspiration shots:

Great! So if we want some tourney small map i suggest to make some destroyed building with small par of the street. Something like "Heat Ray" map from UT3. Do you agree?
