I keep reading how "Obama's presidency will be forever changed".
It's a big deal but I don't see how it's going to redefine his presidency.

While I am sceptical, it does make perfect sense; You can't build a shrine around water...you can't have a pilgrimage to waterphantasmagoria wrote:O RLY?! O.oFrom there, American officials said, the body was buried at sea.

Hey so that image that damn near every news site is running appears to be a fake. Not sure if I can actually post it here, probably not since OMG DEAD PERSON.
Re: Bin Laden is dead
whoa, that's quite surprising news, nice one... didn't think they'd ever get him to be honest.

He's already been "buried at sea" apparently.

How do I feel about it? Uneasy.
I believe humans as a whole won't survive long-term if they keep tearing at each other. We shouldn't be trying to wipe out the people in countries like Pakistan and Iran. We should be trying to absorb them in Borg-like fashion. There's no need to kill these people. All we really need to do is send their young people Rock-in-Roll music, beer, loose women, action movies, video games, mobile communication devices (aka iphones) and lots and lots of weed. Drop all that shit in the school yards and within a few years...BAM...America II, III, IV, etc.
Right, wrong or indifferent, I believe humanity moves together into the future, or we die out before we have the techonology to permanently leave this rock.

Naw dude, I'm not trolling. I know I put it in a trollish fashion, but it's basically true. Go after the young people with "peace, love and happiness" stuff and change will trickle up. You can see China trying to put the brakes on change by clamping down on the internet and access to social networking.
I live 30 miles from the towers and worked in them more than once. Several people at the Firm where I work lost spouses. Even so, to me bin laden is old news. What had he been doing lately? Nothing. It does seem more like re-election fodder for Obama than actually addressing current concerns in the US.

How many attacks are going to happen now because there are still more people exactly as crazy as Osama out there?VolumetricSteve wrote:Umm, they got his DNA from his body. I hope he's dead, the guy was a maniac. At the same time, we kinda have urges for war built into us. I don't think the 'tearing' is going to stop unfortunately; my concern is that it will ramp up.
