Higher spec than the 360/PS3, which is all we need right now for at least another 3 or 4 years anyway.
The actual ideas this thing can do are fucking awesome, just think outside the box for a second other than HUDs and maps.
Plus the fact its a pressure sensitive bluetooth tablet means on PC, this thing can be hacked to do GODS WORK. I know I'll be loading this up into Mud Box asap.
The point is, yes, a lot of games will make it utterly useless, but thing of the ones that don't... I think it has the potential to be utterly mind blowing.
Those fucking slide buttons need to sod off mind you... And flip the right slide/buttons around.
Rumour has it that dev's are having to redevelop games to run on this because it is not as powerful as the xbox and ps3.However, the released data gives away very little about the performance of the console, omitting any kind of detail on the graphics chip utilised and the make-up of the IBM CPU.
wow what a great idea! Theoretically speaking they could add more signals with additional glasses synced respectively...4 players getting the full effect on a signle tv setU4EA wrote:I'm a lot more excited about Sony's 3DTV that lets two people play full screen multiplayer games, with their screens kept distinct from one another through the use of glasses. So instead of swtching rapidly from one eye to the other, they switch rapidly from one set of glasses to the other. Sounds pretty nifty. It's something like $550 for the TV and two pairs of glasses, probably not something I'd be interested in buying anytime soon. Great idea though.
Yep. It's a great prototype pilot for the concept though. Technology always gets better, smaller and cheaper. Eventually, you'd expect this sort of customizable [i.e. flitting between 2 pairs of glasses instead of left/right on a single pair] hoojamambob to work with any 3DTV with a high enough refresh rate.Grandpa Stu wrote:too bad that tv is only 24in :\
Dunno, I was hoping anyone who's been following E3 closely would be able to tell us more about any hamhanded annoucements they've made.xer0s wrote:Except why Microsoft?
I bet that thing processes the game on the main box and streams the video to the device... pretty awesome since the handheld will benefit from having the same quality of graphics as the main display.mjrpes wrote:

All your hopes and dreams of what this controller could be have just been shattered. While earlier dalliances with the Wii U's "WiiPad" controller didn't include touchscreen interaction, a hands-on session with the "Measure Up" tech demo told me all I needed to know about the touchscreen technology behind the device.
It has a stylus. A recess in the upper left of the unit hides a small, white, roughly DS Lite-size stylus. Interacting with it brings up the familiar feeling of poking at a DS screen. Much like the handheld's bottom screen, the Wii U touchscreen doesn't respond perfectly to tracing with a finger. And multitouch is right out. Touching two spots caused the line I was drawing to jump to a point between them, much like the DS
That suggests that Nintendo opted for a cheaper resistive touchscreen, instead of a capacitive touchscreen like the iPhone uses.
I have just realised this entire post is absolute shit. Quoted for the lulzo'dium wrote:Amazing.

Hehe, of course I know it's about cloud computing.MKJ wrote:Cloud Computing. look into it.Plan B wrote:joining a cloud?

MS said we will be able to have our savegames stored in the cloud instead of locally.
