I know there's some debate about whether he indeed said "coon", but even if he did, that doesn't inherently mean the shooting was race related.
If it was a senior citizen, and he yelled "get down, oldtimer", the shooting wouldn't necessarily have something to do with age.

Zimmerman should have been arrested and charged with either manslaughter or second degree murder a long time ago. It is clear by what you hear on those 911 tapes that this was a racially motivated murder. When the audio is amplified you can clearly hear him say coon and the 911 operator told him not to follow Treyvon. You can not willing pursue a "possible threat" and use deadly force. The "Stand your ground" law doesn't and should have never been applied to this case. That law has merit when applied correctly and could save the lives of the innocent that may otherwise be hesitant to act. As a CCW holder and responsible gun owner I hope this misapplication of the law does not bring about its repeal. Zimmerman acted like a hate filled cowboy. His actions were deplorable and he should pay to the fullest extent of the law.

I didn't want to buy into it, either, but from the audio (no, not NBC's edited version, heard it on NPR) I heard Zimmerman is a racist, cowboy asshole. He immediately described Martin as looking like he was up to something, mentioned that he was black (not in context of simply describing his physical attributes), disregarded police instructions to wait and not follow Martin, then actively sought him out and confronted him.

What's ironic to me is all the liberal, hippie faggots squawking about the Stand Your Ground law as the reason Martin was shot, when Martin was the one that had the right to assert it based on feeling threatened by Zimmerman.

If you live in a subdivision that has a homeowner's association (I don't, Flying Spaghetti Monster be praised), then you've met George Zimmerman. He's the HOA president, the nosy, authoritarian, busybody, cop-wannbe asshole that thinks he's the sheriff. Fuck that guy.
