Loved loved loooooved Battlestar Galactica. Didn't start watching it until 3 months ago when I stumbled upon it on Netflix. I've already watched the whole series twice.

Was let down by Caprica. Did not like the teen emo story line and the Italian/Tauron-pride side plot was lame too.

I watched the first two seasons over a month's time and really tried to get into it, but the pace was far too slow for me. I think I was spoiled just coming off a Firefly binge too.

And I'll echo everyone hear about Lost. The last season is pretty dumb, but the show as a whole is probably the most addicting thing I've watched.

I loved BSG, one of my favourite shows even if the last season pulled a bit of a 'lost' and forgot where it was going, but I suppose I should be greatful it even got a final season because it appears every 'proper' sci fi show gets axed before its finished *shrug*. Adama has to be the best Captain around these parts though, sorry Picard but you never FTL'd into a planets atmosphere, grinning.

Tried getting into Fringe, thought that was arse - too slow, Caprica I was expecting something completely different to a soap opera, Terra Nova ? I had to force myself to watch eps before giving up, im kinda stumped on shit to watch tbh, futurama is filling my void atm

If you havnt checked out Enterprise though, which I know a lot hasnt, then do it !, if you get bored then skip to series 3 because its probaly the best series of Star Trek about, if not you need to of watched Firefly, thats pretty epic but aye, way too short !, although it does have the film Serenity for the finale which helps make it up a little. You said you seen the Stargates ? - Universe I thought was really cool until that got the chop (fucking cunts), Atlantis was alright, I kept up with that, and SG-1 everyone knows about. Farscape was really very good ages ago, not sure how well thats aged tbh ?, Lexx I watched at 2am on C4 when nothing else was on, it aint the best ;) and for something thats not set in space check out Life on Mars, thats really decent

edit: Babylon 5 !, is it worth watching ?, I heard good things and tried getting into it but I think farscape stole my attention ?

the thing is, nobody could pull off a better picard, but I can totally see someone else pulling off Adama and none would notice. So your preference comes down to the writing and direction. Yes star trek was more theatrical and BG was more 'realistic'. Don't get your shit mixed up noob.

No one could beat Adama, writing / direction goes with the acting and I couldnt see Picard doing the bad ass, also Picard ruined atleast an entire Enterprise twice, plus that stupid thing with 4 engines that he got nightmares from, if Adama done that hed be up a certain creek without a boat, he also had a raging alcoholic with an eye patch as his #1

yet he had Cylons right under his command and never noticed. Picard would have sorted that out in one episode.

Nothing Geordi couldn't sort out in a few hours of nonconsensual brainstorming in the holodeck

Did mention the story and writing seemed to get lost towards the end of season 3 onwards ?, soundtrack got better though :)
