Also, my (very limited) understanding of boxing was that throwing haymakers was terrible technique, but here is Tyson fucking up everybody by almost exclusively throwing these bar-fight-style haymakers. Interesting.

From the boxing “purists” it is frowned upon; Queensbury rules and all that (You must not fight simply to win, no holds barred is not the way etc etc) As far as I am concerned, if you can punch hard and have a good chin then get into a tear up and see what happens. Tyson was just too powerful for most people. If you look at the way he fought, he was an animal and people were scared to get in a tear up with him but also he hit so hard he was difficult to defend against. Basically you needed reach when you fought Tyson; the Klitschko brothers would do well against him for this reason but I think they would be hammered if he got inside them.

Pretty much and I reckon Tyson could've got inside anyone, he wasn't really built to be a boxer so keeping your distance and scoring hits was never going to work out for a short stumpy fucker with the arms of a T rex, he'd just hunt you down in the ring from the 1st bell and if he could'nt walk within reach he would run. The guy did in his time go up against some of the worlds best boxers and some the heaviest hitters of his generation n all and their wasn't an awful lot that could stop him except for maybe Holyfields head. It's also why an Ali fight during both their primes would have been a better match up than any fight possible imo, having 2 polar opposites that are at the top of what they do.

Speaking of big hitters, Earnie Shavers was probably the biggest hitter in boxing history but there is a "new" british bloke coming through called David Price who can also hit like a train. Poeple say he can hit like Shavers which could be fun to watch, especially if he gets his bout with Tyson Fury

I am keeping an eye on things with Price vs Fury but all my attention is on who Cleverly is going to fight next. I went to see him fight in Liverpool when he fought Bellew. Good crack and I would watch him again, which is why I am keeping an eye on things as he could fight Bernard Hopkins in Atlantic City which I would struggle to stay away from.

On the "fights we'd like to see" front I find it hugely disappointing that Mayweather and The Pacman won't happen...
