Damnit, we should've let the Nazi's win. We'd be having flying robots by 1960 then! >:(

That is also another possibility - my first thought, in fact.

It would appear that it is confusing people....in a good way? Seems like cautious optimism to me.

lol wtf. You can buy the "Panzerhund edition" of Wolfenstein: The New Order and.... not get the game.

Apparently the $100 (excl shipping) special edition doesn't include the ($50) game. That pushes it into a realm of awkwardness beyond that sportscar you got with that game I can't remember the name of.

Grid 2.

and that has been topped by Saints Row 4; comes with a Lamborghini, plastic surgery of your choice and a trip through space.

Oooo.... Horton 229's. I liked how RTCW mixed in real-life Nazi secret projects like the Bachem 349 Natter into the lore, and I like how this new Wolfenstein does the same. Hope we also see a Landkreuzer, you could park a company of tanks inside one of these giants.

I don't think there has been any mention of the occult so far though...

Unfamiliar with this one... a piloted cruise missile? Awesome. Incredibly desperate of course, sacrificing your pilots like that is exactly the kind of madness that can only seem like a good idea if you're a German in 1944... but still awesome.

The Horten always amazes the shit out of me because the design is so sleek and modern looking - but they built the thing out of fucking plywood and what not. Landing gear you ask? Nein! We didn't install that, think of the resources we'll save!

Jesus, it's crazier than strapping a rocket to a bicycle.

The Germans were aware that the British had some way of detecting their planes as they flew over the channel (radar) but didn't know exactly how it worked. The Horton 229 was an attempt at creating an early stealth plane which the Germans hoped would be less detectable. Body made of wood, slim profile, internal top mounted jet engines, it even looks like a modern B-2 bomber. Modern experiments have shown that it probably would have worked, too.

There are some interesting RTCW lore based on real world facts here:

Neato, I didn't know that the Allies had a real working night vision infrared rifle like the one you use in the game.

I reall hope this game works out. I have good feelings about it though, mostly because it finally brings us a developer that understands that, while not very plausible, dual wielding shotguns is just effin' awesome.

German radar was more advanced than everyone elses systems at the outbreak of WWII, to the point where commandos were carrying out raids on German stations to steal tech. The Germans just failed to utilise the technology properly, Dowding managed to create a system called 'Chain Home' before the Battle of Britain that controlled the flow of information from radar / observer stations to fighter control, coupled with the cracking of enigma machines, this is what was causing confusion to the Germans because they had nothing like it, the surprising thing to them was the speed at which the Brits managed to organise large amounts of squadrons in such a little time period.

That plane you talk about n all, the Horten Ho ?, its stealth characteristics were purely by accident. Wood was used as it was a readily availiable commodity at wartime, after seeing the success the Brits had with the Mosquito fighter bomber made of wood they decided they wanted their own.

^ that's my favourite plane n all, it was cheap as chips and nothing in the sky could match pace with it. It could deliver bombs, chase down any plane or flee the scene knowing they could get away with some being pressurised for high altitude interceptions in 1942 !. For every one shot down a German pilot would be rewarded with 2 kills. Not bad for something knicknamed the 'Wooden Marvel' because no one, including the air ministry believed it could be conceived.

"In 1940 I could at least fly as far as Glasgow in most of my aircraft,
but not now! It makes me furious when I see the Mosquito. I turn green
and yellow with envy. The British, who can afford aluminium better than
we can, knock together a beautiful wooden aircraft that every piano
factory over there is building, and they give it a speed which they have
now increased yet again. What do you make of that? There is nothing
the British do not have. They have the geniuses and we have the
nincompoops. After the war is over I'm going to buy a British radio set -
then at least I'll own something that has always worked."
- Hermann Göring, 1943.[91][92]
The Horten Ho's single wing design and internal engines was to reduce drag and weight n all, Its main objectives was to create a bomber capable of hitting mainland USA or Britain (because German lines were pushed so far back) at high speed with large payloads.

Game looks win btw
