Seems to be getting some very good reviews. Opening this weekend. Think I'll have to go see it for my birthday.

Re: Gravity
Had the crew showing on Friday. It's genuinely one of the best films I've ever seen. I usually can pick holes in at least one aspect of pretty much every film I see but this ticks every box. It'll be in line for some Oscars I'm sure. The story is great, the actors and their acting is great, the cinematography is mindbogglingly great (almost the whole film is like it's one long take, it's so immersing) The CGI is great, the sound is great etc etc etc. It's also the first 3D screening of a film I've not been annoyed by, which is interesting seeing as it wasn't natively shot in 3D. After the opening scene it seamlessly becomes something that absorbs the audience, enhancing the experience without drawing attention to itself.
Incidentally, I'm working on Star Wars at the moment :)

Re: Gravity
That black astrophysicist Neil guy says the movie is bullshit...he also says the CGI is crap...
Re: Gravity
Got a source of that? Usually Neil DeGrasse Tyson (who is that black astrophysicist Neil guy) has some insightful things to say in an entertaining manner. I really could do without the bullshit Geoff filter on that.
Re: Gravity
Source it yourself dipshit... it's all over the internet...

Re: Gravity
apart from the lolworthyness of geoff claiming to dismiss something on scientific merits; this is actually what it is all about:
"Often a story worth telling can fall apart if there is a complete dedication to perfect science. The goal is to make everything seem grounded enough in the physical world that it seems real. So story trumps science every time."
Re: Gravity
he also said he enjoyed the movie, he just pointed out some scientific mistakes.
so u lose, again.
