Yeah. A lot of people say so... seems like I will have to check the series out.feedback wrote:The Mass Effect games are must-play
The entire Mass Effect series is a must play, not just the first.Pext wrote:Yeah. A lot of people say so... seems like I will have to check the series out.feedback wrote:The Mass Effect games are must-play
Sorry, but that will not change unless the game's development budget balloons and hires an army of writers. The reason why there's a limitation in the content isn't due to tech, it's simply due to time and cost contraints when trying to produce games on a viable budget and make it's release date. Either gamers need to be more patient with games coming out every 3 - 5 years (instead of every year like they expect now) or stfu about a lack of depth in the games they play. Sorry...this isn't being rude, it's simply reality.Pext wrote:But I have grown a bit tired of the Bioware games over the years: I find the dialog choices very fun and I love listening to the NPCs storys. But after a certain point there's no way to push your relation with an NPC you've grown fond of any further. But I guess games will have to develop for a few more years until they have reached the level of interactivity and openness in storytelling that I am looking for.
It's robust and clever enough to play it a billion different ways for the gamer who takes his time and thinks before acting, but it's also setup to be painfully obvious enough for the stupid/impatient among us who will play it to still beat the challenge. There's also an option to replay the entire mission after you've completed it, if you want to try it a different way. The level design really compliments the player's abilities instead of being a hinderance and since the game got shit on for player movement, I'm guessing the only people who complained were the console tards.Pext wrote:@GKY: Will check it out: Praise of level design coming from you - must be good
Yeah. I did of course consider this. What I am actually hoping for is procedural/algorithmic generation of narrative structures. But this is a ridiculously hard interdisciplinary problem yet to be solved.GONNAFISTYA wrote:Sorry, but that will not change unless the game's development budget balloons and hires an army of writers.
