Should also mention that Labour leader Ed Milliband is the son of Polish asylum seekers from the 2nd world war, they weren't even working class. Our previous Labour PM (Gordon Brown) was from a working class family along with Tony Blair and I can pick out many, many more front/backbenchers and cabinet members from past and present, 2 jags Prescott being the most popular probably ?

Hey, it's Mr. Predictable... Since he's already made the obvious off topic insult there's not much left, right? Not unless you want more off topic insults or a response that mimics the person's before. Lord knows he's not capable of legitimate participation. Of course since I've acknowledged his stupidity he has to respond.
What says the LawLakeet?

But Russell Brand speaks sense ?
"I'm calling for a revolution" - But openly admits he doesn't know current politics and has no idea on how to improve, it's a baseless rhetoric.
"Redistribute the wealth" - Socialism ?

. Let's go back to pre-Thatcher.
"Tax rich corporations" - Not rich people ?

, rich bastard
"profit is a dirty word" - The rich bastard
This was Paxman making Brand look like Alex Jones when Piers tore him a new one. He didn't have a fucking clue what to say when Paxman told him Milliband went to a public school as hes rattling off shit about the segregation of classes. In this new world Brand portrays, you can guarantee the distribution of power wouldn't apply to women either.

Oh ye and he wrote an article praising Thatcher for the work she done in bringing Britain from the brink of self destruction by following Americas blueprint on capitalism and abolishing the trade unions

Paxman was saying himself that some of the things Brand mentioned are problems, no ones saying there aren't problems and these can be found on the front page of any rag. Brand after ranting gets told something along the lines of "maybe the problems are too big, particularly for one country" and all he got was a "maybe"
The entire interview was Paxman trying to see Brands idea for a revolution but the entire thing was a baseless argument that I've seen many times listing problems that he has no clue how to fix whilst calling for a revolution. He came scross as an angsty teenager pissed off with our government more than world problems, whilst ignoring how capitalism has helped bring wealth to the poor when placed against other ideologies.

This is why he and everyone else in the UK should be pissed with what the government doesn't do to stop corporations taking the piss.
This is a sole example (and admittedly an extreme one) of the lack of tax paid in the country.
People are moaning about gas bills going up but Centrica, the company that owns British Gas paid £2bn in corporation tax last year alone.
We need rapid evolution rather than revolution; we also need a serious rethink of the way this taxes its people and its companies (why if I work hard and earn over £42k, do I pay 45% tax when multi billion pound companies and industries dodge tax like there is no tomorrow?)

Not all industries are dodging tax though, those are loopholes carved out by rich arseholes. It's just one of the problems that needs fixing and public outcry for it has gathered some pace since the credit crunch. This is a system thats taken advantage of by individuals also, you and me if needs be. They shouldn't be dodging tax and that's the point and it mostly comes down to foreign business operating in our country.
Why do you think play.com closed down ?, cos a shitload of people in Britain were tax dodging. Then who did that hurt when they closed ?, the consumer or the government ?

Say what you want but when they closed the Jersey loophole a lot of people had to shift accounts to minimise taxes.
Like I said, It's all about progression.

Well no, I know this, hence I posted that Centrica paid 2bn in tax last year yet get vilified over the price of gas. They make, on average, £50 of profit per year, per household. Sounds a lot but the majority of that goes back into R&D and exploration. Yet Vodafone make billions and pay fuck all;

lol are you for real ?, you said yourself progression is needed rather than a revolution and now Brand is right ?.
How do you fix those problems ?, seriously ?, because if those companies don't post a profit in the UK then how are we meant to tax the bastards ?. Tescos do the same in the US and they're considered 'in trouble'

. These are issues that the government, HMRC hate but like a good democracy are required to deal with it.
The tax system is a joke, but in a democracy compromises are made. Nobodies sayings its perfect but in truth its the best we got and wanting to revert to socialism isn't going to fix shit.
Not to nitpick either but there's a reason why taxes are worked out in percentages, you also get taxed on everything you earn over 50k at the higher tax band, everything below is at the lower rate upto 50k. So if you earn 60K only 10k will be at max tax
