Btw: Cold turkey - works for me. Occasionaly falling back into the habit when partying - then i smoke ~1 pack/day for one weekend. But i should be able to stop even this from now on.
Re: Does anyone here vape?
TBH if it worked like that then I think everyone who smokes would switch over, I would straight away. It's the same with the patches, I was on patches that actually made me feel sick cos they had too much nicotine at 1st but it didn't stop me from wanting a fag.seremtan wrote:frankly, given the insignificant (or possibly non-existent) health risk from vaping, there's nothing wrong with doing that if you like the nicotine hit but without the carcinogens. vaping as a way of stopping smoking - i.e. as a stepping-stone to quitting nicotine entirely - seems pointless. do it for the enjoyment or don't do it at all
In theory it should work, but it doesn't !. I'm not bigging myself either, I've had shit like caffeine addictions and taken nearly every drug short of smoking krack on a weekly basis at times (too old now

My brother has some $300 e-cig and it hasn't helped him quit. He has some stupid cherry favor in it and now he feels like he can blow shit smelling vapor in everyone's vehicles and houses because it's not smoke. Cigs going to $7.50 a pack has helped him more than anything.
I don't smoke. I very, very occasionally will have a cigar or cigarette while I'm drinking. But I've tried one of my buddy's vape. It's very smooth and would be no help to quit smoking. Any like shaft said, people think they can do it anywhere because its not smoke. I walked into a meeting at work and there was 3 or 4 guys puffing away. I ask them what they're doing (knowing exactly what it was), they said "Vaping". I said not in here you're not. You'd have thought someone killed their puppy

Re: Does anyone here vape?
Because it's a tool used to quit smoking most work environments tolerate it as it's a tool meant to help the worker and has no negative effects on other people. Telling them to stop is a fairly moronic thing to do because all you're doing is encouraging people that are trying to better their lives to go back to smoking.
Re: Does anyone here vape?
Uh no. The room smelled like cotton candy, or cherry, or whatever other flavor they was smoking. If it's to be acceptable in the work environment, then they'll have to create an odorless vape...
Re: Does anyone here vape?
I forgot to mention there were several people who starting clapping and saying "Finally'" when I told them they couldn't smoke in there. They should be treated just as cigarettes, smoked in a designated area. No one wants that shit blown in their face...
Re: Does anyone here vape?
I wouldn't brag about being a hurdle in someones life when they're actively trying to better their lives.
If anything work places allow this because it makes the worker more productive by eliminating needless smoke breaks. Plus the scents you smell are basically food by-products instead of perfumes because you wouldn't want to inhale perfume so it really is a completely uneducated stance.

Re: Does anyone here vape?
I'd be willing to bet 90% of the people who use the vapes aren't looking to quit smoking. They use them because they're convenient and for the most part they can smoke them in public places (even though most people hate being around it). So don't try to defend these people that you think are trying to quit smoking. If they really wanted to quit smoking, then they would resist the urge to do it outside designated smoking areas. If anything, being able to vape in a public place only assists their addiction...
Re: Does anyone here vape?
The whole point of banning smoking in enclosed public places is because of the negative affects so in short, fuck u

Re: Does anyone here vape?
We also ban scented candles and all that shit. No one wants to smell your Lavender & Tangerine scentsy...
Re: Does anyone here vape?
nope. gave up smoking 10 years ago without vapes or patchesHM-PuFFNSTuFF wrote:Do you even vape bro?
it's weird how moralistic people get about vaping. it's as if they resent the idea that someone can have most of the pleasure of smoking while end-running the social prejudice against smoking. it's as if they think that's cheating in some way

No one wants to smell your aftershave either, or that tarts bag or that poor sods foot conditionxer0s wrote:We also ban scented candles and all that shit. No one wants to smell your Lavender & Tangerine scentsy...
You might find candles to be a fire hazard n all, but whats their policy against lavender air fresheners / cleaning products ?

Great postBerserker wrote:August 22 was the day i smoked my last cigarette. Started out with the Blu, which is complete garbage. Moved on to the Halo Triton system which is basically like your evod. That's when I knew I was done with cigarettes. The key is finding a juice that you really like, which can take some trial and error. Your taste buds are going to go ape shit for a while. Some days all of your juices will taste terrible. The following day everything will taste great again. This is because they are actually healing and getting used to being off cigarettes. Just stick with it and I promise vapeing can be much more satisfying than cigarettes. It's really a lifestyle change and can become quite a hobby.
As for saving money, that all depends on how deep you get into it. But once you have your base setup, it can be much cheaper than cigarettes.
I'll probably be picking up the innokin mvp version 2 and a nice kanger protank 2 to go along with it pretty soon. I also plan on getting into the mechanical mods and rebuildable atomizers because I like the tinkering aspect vapeing.

It isn't smoking. There is no smoke. It's heated liquid turned into water vapour. Do you complain when the kettle boils?
It's a much, much healthier option and lifestyle choice than cigarettes.
Therefore quitting doesn't have to be, and in most or many cases isn't, the primary concern of vapers.
Re: Does anyone here vape?
here is one thing to consider. there is plenty of other shit in that cancer stick other than nicotine, which you also become dependent on. Not to the same level as nicotine , but noticeable enough. So when you try to use patches, gum, vapor to quit, you feel like you're missing something.. I mean you're getting nicotine , it says so right there on the box, but your system is having withdrawals from all the other shit as well. The good thing is, those 'secondary addictions are much easier to overcome, and after that point, a patch /gum/ vapor WILL become noticeably more effective. Surely, there is the oral fixation, the smell, the unique warm feeling cigs give you, but I'm assuming you're mentally compensating for those.TBH if it worked like that then I think everyone who smokes would switch over, I would straight away. It's the same with the patches, I was on patches that actually made me feel sick cos they had too much nicotine at 1st but it didn't stop me from wanting a fag.
K moving on,
I had gotten really into vaping a while back, and I was getting real excited about the prospect of doing away with cancer sticks. Unfortunately, for some reason, at some point my system created a nasty reaction to vapor in the means of completely draining me from any energy.... I would find myself sleeping 12-14 hours a day, so at that point I gave up on it and went back to smoking.
Looking back at it, I don't know what went wrong. I was steady vaping for about 3 weeks without using any cigarettes, and yeah it was going to be a lifestyle change and not simply a stepping stone to quitting.
However there was this one incident that might have forced my system to develop a 'DO NOT WANT' reaction to it: at some point I had gotten into mixing my own liquids, and I had accidentally spilled some of it on my hand.. apparently that's not a good thing to do (and I was aware of it) the effect would basically be equal to some serious nicotine overdose. I felt sick and fell asleep.( also probably not a bright idea). well, ever since that incident, every time I took a few puffs of vapor I would get really tired and seek out sleep.

also, even though xer0s in a very conservative fashion bitched, cried and moaned his way to getting something he is not interested in, banned; I agree that people who vape in closed areas should be considerate with their flavor options. and yes, they do have vapors that have a very clean aroma profile.... you'd have to be right over their ass to be able to smell anything that would be considered bothersome... or you'd have to be a douchebag.
Re: Does anyone here vape?
what a bunch of morons.
Re: Does anyone here vape?
I've really taken to vaping. Don't miss smoking at all tbh. It's become quite the hobby too. Joined a UK vaping forum, been learning how to do atomiser builds, and upgraded from a starter kit to a more advanced variable voltage/wattage/ohms resistance battery mod, a rebuildable tank atomiser and a rebuildable dripping atomiser. Behold my first ever microcoil and organic cotton wool build, firing on all cylinders! Oh, and some tasty banana and custard e-juice they call 'monkey jizz'

Re: Does anyone here vape?
I smoked fairly steadily from 13 till about 24. Then socially for the next three years. Then barely at all. I always had a pack on me but very rarely did I have a whole one or one at all.
I think $10 a pack helped. Plus my acquaintances are dirty mooches. I have a friend who has one of those e-cigs. (Blu maybe). I asked to try it a few times and I always inhale WAY too deeply because I can't feel the vapor and end up choking my brains out. Cold turkey worked good for me.
Bought this a couple of months ago. Definitely enjoying it. Absolem.

you could discuss the price of a lot of carpets around that
Re: Does anyone here vape?
There's a moron at work that 'vapes' at her desk then smokes outside.
