I actually have a healthy diet. That's the thing I don't eat fast food or high sugar foods or even greasy foods that often. I typically eat meat and potatoes and when the wife cooks she cooks even healthier than I do so I'm not concerned about what I'm eating in general.

The problem is that in the last 3 years I've been drinking NRG drinks, only 1 a day sometimes 2 but rarely and I think those drinks are primarily responsible for my weigh gain and I'd like to get back to where I was 3 years ago to continue working out like I was then.

I had stopped working out at the time cause my now 3 year old son had just been born. Unfortunately he did not sleep through his nights until he was 2 and a half. Even today he still wakes up at 5:30am although that's an improvement over waking up every 3 - 4 hours.

So for 2 and a half years I couldn't sleep for more than 4 hours straight without having to getup to take care of him which led me to those drinks and I stopped working out.

3 years and 40lbs later I find myself having time to work out but I'm so overweight it's physically difficult for me to do anything and impossible to do the workout I want to do without shedding some weight first.

I could take the long route and simply work it off slowly but that's going to take me what? like 6 months to accomplish before I can actually do the workout I'd like to be doing now.

This approach lets me do it in 14 days if it works. I'll report back on how much weight I lost or didn't lose and we'll see if it's worth doing.

He'll say he's completely ripped but won't show pics. We might get a blurry corner of a dented fridge though.

No it's because you're a pathological liar and you're unable to post pics proving otherwise.

I'll be drinking vegetable/fruit juices for the next 14 days in an attempt to shed some weight. I tipped the scales at just over 200 lbs during the holidays and that's the biggest I've ever been and I don't like it. If it goes well I may even extend that to 20 days. Anyone have any experience with juicing? Recommendations?

Kracus

Serious challenge here - on January 1st I weighed in at 13st 6lbs (188lbs) and I have now done 10 days of a health diet and regular exercise (not intense as I am still recovering from injury) Tomorrow morning is the 10th day. I will weigh myself and post the results. You do the same on your shakes.

10 days after that (20th of January) we will do the same thing.

It'll be interesting to see if your weight jumps up after all your shakes and stuff...

Are you juicing this stuff yourself? It's not a bad thing to drink, but to consume only that seems pretty foolish. I don't think you will lose weight in any meaningful way, and if you do, you will bounce right back. You have to eat some protein and fat and shit. The old saying: you need 1g of protein per kg of body weight per day, at least. If you are drinking nothing but fruit/veggie juice for 14 days, you're probably not even getting 1/10th of that in a day. If you wanna lose weight, don't eat any processed sugar and if you do need to eat sugar, make sure it's natural (honey, blackstrap molasses, raw agave nectar, maple syrup, etc.) and don't go fucking nuts with it.

Check out paleo diet, which is basically just meat, raw fruit/veg and nuts.

yeah I'm buying fresh fruit and juicing everything myself but the amount of fruit and vegetables that I need to put through the juicer to make one meal is quite a lot more than I would probably eat in the entire day and I'll be drinking 6 of them everyday.

Kale should have enough protein on its own but I also have nuts that I add to the drinks. since its only for 14 days I don't think it's long enough for any kind of deficiency.

Wow that's a real dumb idea for a diet Kracus, did you get that from one of your wife's glossy fashion magazines or something? Like other people pointed out your body will go into starvation mode and you'll likely bounce right back when you start eating again. You'll also start feeling incredibly weak both physically and mentally a few days into this. Have fun with that.

You're far better off watching your food intake very critically, just eat healthy food at regular intervals and seriously hit the gym. Ban stuff like sugar and alcohol from your life for a while, make sure you get the right kinds of fat, etc.

13st 3lbs this morning, which is lighter than I thought I would be...(185lbs) so I've lost 3lbs in 10 days using exercise and eating 5 meals a day
