Actually, the latest update to that article confirms it's downloading the whole game again (the 40gb download), which obviously is an error. So Ubisoft are going to need a patch to patch their patch.

Which means so much as "we've completely fucked up so we can't have QA pass more shit like this."
And the thing about quality control being important to customers is a nice way of confirming that the community was up in arms about the whole fiasco.
