holy shit are you fucking serious right now? look at the data table at the bottom of the page you yourself linked in your first post. there are 221 polls list there. the chart i posted earlier is based on all 221 of those polls. i highlighted the high number of >50% poll results in favour of remain compared to the very low number of >50% poll results for leavelosCHUNK wrote:The data you had mentioned only included +50 polls which by your own numbers was small (37 out of 228)...
seriously dude, learn to interpret basic stats
Re: Brexiting is closer than I thought it would be
Dude wtf are you on ?
You have used a set of rules (+50%) that ended up reducing your data (the link) to 39 polls. This leaves it wide open to influences. That's why I said it's fair enough but...
Or another way to look at it, only 39 polls out of 221 (not 37 vs 227, apparently) have any discernible opinion one way or another.
So my arguement about it being erratic is square on the money cumnuts.

Alright, then I'll go back to this as we're looking at the graph in its entirety...
Now about how you have extracted / pointed to / defined less than 25% of that data that spans over a year, with the other 75% being completely ignored and held it as gospel...
There you go.losCHUNK wrote:Infact if you look at that trendline, it's because of the results in the middle in favour of a stay vote that are influencing it.
It gets much closer towards the end with only a clear lead opening up in the last week.

I now know loads of people who are voting to leave because of "the bloody immigrants". It's a truly sad state of affairs

I wonder how long it will take before humanity gets over its xenophobia.

I was going to say 'as soon as we encounter intelligent alien life' but then i guess that's xenophobia too - just directed at non humans. Ah well eh!Transient wrote:I wonder how long it will take before humanity gets over its xenophobia.

Just look at the smug faced piggy fucking cunt in Downing Street, they'll vote him in but cos he tanked the economy the immigrants get the blame.

But when Britain has stepped out of the EU, who are you going to blame for all your problems?

IIRC 25% of the population is obese, just like Canada. That's a lot of fucking fatties, considering pretty much everyone you see in Canada is a fat cunt.

uh, actually predatory lenders and unscrupulous banks tanked the economy, then government (Labour) spending was blamed. the Tories' austerity was a combination of neoliberal business as usual and sheer incompetence that made something that was pretty bad even worselosCHUNK wrote:I'll fuck it

Re: Brexiting is closer than I thought it would be
I was inspired by the current election cycle, so a few weeks ago I re-read 1984, and I just finished re-reading Brave New World over the weekend. I used to be concerned that the world was moving toward the dystopia Huxley warned about, but it's become clear that Orwell was way more on the mark. So much so, that I feel like 1984 is being used as a sort of playbook by the political elite. The government has a constant need for an "other" to be at war with, for example. And the social caste has never been more stark, although I don't know where the proles end and the Outer Party begins. And the government is obsessed with re-labeling things with language that's more benign, or altogether non-descriptive, in an effort to obfuscate or ameliorate peoples' legitimate concerns.Memphis wrote:Never prolly. What with the left going so far left, it's becoming synonomous with third-wave feminism and other SJW antics that want to restrict all freedom of speech and label everyone racists, sexists and homo/transphobic, simply for being white/male/not a tranny, employing double-think, newspeak, disruption, no-platforming, virtue signalling and any other tyrannical force at hand, like it's nineteen eighty cunting four and all ends justify any means. Meanwhile they act as apologists for Islam, rape brigades and making everyone so terrified of being labelled by the social justice stasi, that folks get caught out trying to outright avoid any talk about the negative sides of immigration, clashing cultures, or religions so mired in dark age thinking, that it has the clits cut from pre-pubescent girls. The effect? More moving to the right. Lol.
I don't think the left is moving more to the left, I just think the vocal minority is getting more attention than they deserve. Social media has given everyone a bullhorn, and millenials who had helicopter parents and don't know how to deal with the real world are finally out on their own, asserting their entitlement to whoever will listen. Colleges and Universities cow to them out of fear of social reprisal, as ridiculous as some complaints may be. Give it time and the pendulum will swing back closer to the middle.
I'm not a libertarian by any stretch of the imagination, but this guy has a few good points. Maybe I dismissed the party a little too soon...
