Re: audio people questions
i didnt care for the looks
i like to have the option of taking the grils off .
no grills at all is something i could not handle.
i was shocked no larger drivers for those prices !
i am not saying theyre bad in any way, just expressing my impressions without hearing them,

Re: audio people questions
True, out of his range. 300 CanDolls is not something you go fishing for a decent pair of speakers, though. Only used ones. Maybe some BraunsToxicBug wrote:Those look nice but they're 345 EUR each.

Re: audio people questions

My speakers are Danish, headphones are German, no complaintsFerrao10 wrote:True, out of his range. 300 CanDolls is not something you go fishing for a decent pair of speakers, though. Only used ones. I got the M12 as stereo speakers with Kimber cables, spectacular. Maybe look for the LS 550 wall-mount speakers? Got a pair of those as well. Flat as they are, they do sound good.

British DAC/preamp though

Re: audio people questions
True that. The UK kills at those.ToxicBug wrote:British DAC/preamp though
Re: audio people questions
I'm actually not happy with mine to be honest. My first one broke, luckily it was right before its warranty expired. We'll see how long the replacement lasts.Ferrao10 wrote:True that. The UK kills at those.ToxicBug wrote:British DAC/preamp though

Re: audio people questions
Hmm, that's bad. I had heard only good stuff about the CA DACs.ToxicBug wrote:Cambridge Audio DacMagic Plus
Plained, why'd you get your kids something that plays 192/24? Are they old enough to really appreciate it?
And I'm not into it but I had heard DSD is where it's at anyways.
Re: audio people questions
now i grabbed sony dn860 and the pioneer beat that too.
i would like to do one last compare with maybe a comparable priced yamaha but i think i'll just give up and keep the pioneers.
one pair of the rtia3's showed up and they sound nice with the pioneer, plus they look nice!
also the pioneers interfaces are better for this purpose at this time because you dont need a tv plugged in them to menu thru and play music of usb and all that.
i dont want scrrens in the kids rooms at this time, they are more than responsible enough but i would rather them "listen" closely rather than "watch" closely at this time.
eh i figured this would be i nice thing for them, imo it is never too early a time to start enjoying fairly hq music sounds.
i dont know if you remember but last year i got them pretty neat minecraft setups and theyve really enjoyed them.

Re: audio people questions
So they like listening to audio plays? Like Harry Potter and the like? It's awesome you bought them something that enriches the crystal-clear highs and the fat solid bass, not to mention the true as real mids.plained wrote:theyre 8.7 and 11.2 years old.
Are you stupid?
Sorry, but I can't... I just can't.
Stay with the Pioneers, they always built good quality. Yamahas blow just after warranty. You may think about getting tape decks for the audio plays. Good old fashioned.
Edit: Sorry, I was a bit harsh.
But, don't you think a regular second hand setup would be just fine for their needs?
Re: audio people questions
lol no not plays!
music ey the classics,50's 60's 70's 80's 90's 2000's +!
my kids are spackburgerish but they are actually quite sophisticated, they both crush at piano pretty hard and theyve had starter little sony blasters since the beginning so it is time to move up .
second hand for the kids rooms? uh no
