As far as I've seen the GW community is FAR more civilized than the Quake 3 community, unlike World of Warcraft, which has very recently seen over 50.000 accounts banned for cheating.

I've seen people trade honestly, invite each other to play together in missions or come up with interesting services they provide at a certain price in gold pieces or special items.

I think it's a good thing. Guildwars might not be a MMORPG in the classic sense of the word, but it doesn't have or want to be an MMORPG.

I like the fact that I can travel across the landscape and attempt Quests with a few friends or a select group of other players without being interupted by not only annoying pricks, but also serious players who arrive at the quest item just minutes before I do and I have to wait ages for it to respawn (a problem that, according to a WoW addicted friend of mine, is very annoying).

GW on it's own is very well balanced, has a number of intuitive gameplay elements and tricks and a well designed and intuitive interface and it's got awesome graphics to boot (an area in which WoW is significantly lacking IMO).

The same is true in worldcraft - in fact, its nice to occasionally meet up with people mid mission, save their life (or them yours) and continue on together - much easier to find parties that way, TBH... You get all the trade stuff aswell, obviously...

In WOW, if you're looking for a required item and someone else gets it, its not really a problem - it'll respawn soon. If you're looking for something really sparkley, of course you have to work for it... If you want, you can head to an instance dungeon and avoid the rest of the world totally (like GW).

Personally, i find GW looks quite generic really... Lacks personality in its style - it looks like a Dungoens And Dragons player's wet dream tho... Its all about taste really... I cant really comment on it, as i've not seen it all...

And? at least bliz is doing something against cheaters..

Sorry, but in all reality, the PvP servers for WOW are peices of shit.. there filled with kids that played warcraft 3 and type like fucking looney toons..

But PvE servers and RP servers are totally different.. hell i have guildmate that are in there mid 40s.. its a real community, unlike that shitfest you play called Guild Wars

but whatever, take your pos game, thats going to start pumping out expansions every 2 months for 30 bucks a pop, and ill stick to a real MMO..

and EQ2 was shit as well.. i bought it, played for 2 weeks, realized it was the same old EQ1 with a facelift and some gay changes and canceled my account..

Its NOTHING like that on PvE servers.. your friend, most likely picked a shitty PVP server and is getting ganked constantly.. cry me a fucking river..

I cant count the number of times where i needed a quest mob only to see someone else has tapped it, and i helped them kill it anyways, they turned around and helped me when it respawned.. hell ive done it for opposite factions and they returned the favor..

Time you either play WoW or shut the fuck up about it, because honestly, you know dick all when it comes to MMOs..

Thanks but no.. i played GW from closed beta to retail.. owned alot of people, and got beat down by some people.. then again, the only time i ever lost in the arenas was when it was some fucking korean clan..

Btw, im only this big of an asshole on this forum.. few other Q3W members see me outside of here, and honestly, im not near this bad anywhere else.. this place breeds hate, and honestly, its started to effect me when i post here..
