I don't think we've done this in a while, so
Well, I've finished 2 of my big goals already (i.e. become MSc in medicine, become an MD), but there's plenty left to attain.
- Finish my anesthesiology specialisation
- Become substantially wealthy with helping patients
- Travel to lots of countries (still a lot to visit)
- Learn to play the guitar and learn to draw/paint

Re: I don't think we've done this in a while, so
Mum does Tai Chi (or rather, she used to do) and it's not all it's cracked up to be, it's far too male bias and I think it also seems a little pretentious for Westerners to practise it. Both mum and myself (I'm slowly learning) prefer Tarrot.Nightshade wrote:8. Practice Tai Chi

Well, the most important goal of mine is to meet celebreties. I really wanna have a chat with Jack Bauer and the gang from That 70s Show. I wanna meet Ellen Muth and the people who were in Dead Like Me. And lots of other TV stars from the series I like.Ryoki wrote:I'm sorry man, but those goals fucking suck.ToxicBug wrote:-Have a successful carreer in something
-Meet celebreties I see on TV and in movies
-Get a top-end BMW
-Go lapping and do other sorts of auto racing
Be creative, c'mon!

in no particular order:
- travel more (only been to Canada, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Italy, Turkey, and Spain. so much more to see)
loosen up on things that i think are a big deal, but in the bigger scope of things, they aren't.
schedule more time to volunteer. right now it's only twice a month.
grow big enough balls to move to another country.
buy a second house within 5 years.
learn to sailboard and skydive.

I'm with you on this one. With the degrees I'm pursuing, I think that I have a good shot at getting hired on with ABB Robotics in Sweden. Now I would absolutely love that, and I think my wife would be cool with it, but my mom would shit a blue bean if I moved to another continent.+JuggerNaut+ wrote:in no particular order:

BTW....in Sweden weed is "really" illegal....meaning severe penalties for what I'd consider a minor offense. And Sweden just made it illegal for people to smoke cigarettes anywhere but your home....pretty much.
It's a nice place and the people are great. Where's the job? If it's Malmo I'll cross the strait and kick you in the sack with a clown shoe.

I can only emphatically tell you - it is.saturn wrote:Ryoki wrote:Skydiving however.....should be really coolR00k wrote:skydive at least once
My only ambition really is to make sure I'm never poor. I don't neccessarily want to be rich, I just want to remain independant and live whatever comes my way.
And I REALLY want to skydive again. Me and my friends plan on making it a yearly event at least. It's true what they say - do it once and you're hooked.

Goals At 23 (1998):
Finish the PhD program I was in and continue doing breast cancer research.
Write or work on biology textbooks.
Write a funded grant.
Get married.
Bench 335 lbs at 190 lbs bodyweight. (silly goal, but at the time I was still working out all the time - only got to 305-310).
Have kids.
Learn a form of martial arts.
Get my golf handicap below 1.
At 15 days shy of 30 (2005):
Go back and finish the PhD I didn't finish.
Continue to write and work on textbooks - eventually writing my own.
Write another funded grant someday.
Continue working out and staying in shape.
Have kids.
Avoid divorce.
Get better at martial arts - learn a true form of them as opposed to bits and pieces from many.
Get my golf handicap BACK to around 2 or 3.
Buy property and build our own house.
Start racing waverunners.
Put off my next neck surgery for as long as possible.
Find a recliner that I can grow old with.
Funny how some priorities change over time..heh.

No shit. My jump master had over 1500 jumps. He had a huge grey beard and was older than Moses but jumped as often as he could.Shmee wrote:I can only emphatically tell you - it is.

I haven't gone in a while. I think I'll do it this summer.
