Right after I posted this, a friend called me up and asked if I wanted to go see it.

Here's my review:

Fucking weird, yet not very good. Not bad either. But definitely not very good.

The only clear message of this movie seems to be "Quit smoking!".
The story itself is rather confusing, contradictory, illogical, yet kinda interesting until you figure out it's just "We need to kill teh evil d00ds!". The chick isn't great. Some visuals are nice (mostly the simpler ones), the CGI stuff is average.

I didn't regret seeing it, but I might as well have watched it on video.


(I guess what I wanted to say here is that the movie needs more John Milton and less Hollywood)

So I take it I shouldn't go in expecting The Matrix, but rather a semi-mindless action flick? Good to know so I can set my standards at the right level. :)

It's semi-mindless alright, but there isn't a lot of action. Think Exorcist+Stigmata+End of Days

I was entertained while it lasted, but left the theatre with a 'Meh.' feeling.
