Well, I just played some pro -T4, and my rails went through the roof. Could be new found inspiration, could also be because I like that map, but, I was getting a lot of consecutive rail frags. I'm not too worried about changing sens on the fly. And if I'm not losing any precison to the 518, meh, then I'm happy. Mouse feels really nice and solid

while we're on a consumer goods one - was it you that was looking up headphones a while back (proper ones not walkman ones)? any recommendations? my sennheisers are on the way out.

True, i have sorta big hands, so the lil mice cramp me up after a while.

Oops sorry, nearly missed this. Yea, quite a while ago I bought Sennheiser HD580's. They really are fantastic, not just in sound, but you will not find a more comfortable pair of headphones. You can wear them for hours. It's like a pair of slippers on each ear. You should check out HD580's and HD600s, but the latest model is the 650. However, unless you're going to match the hifi to those audiophile cans, I would stick with HD580/600. The 650 is more expensive and from what I've heard, you get marginal differences.
Online, you might still find the 580's around £140 or so, but you shouldn't be paying more than about £90. Check out the shops in tottenham court road if you can get there, I remember I paid £120, then walked across the road and another shop was selling them for £99. 580's are basically classed as audiophile headphones, yet they're relatively cheap to buy. Their sound signature is known for being a laid back, slightly masked sound, but they sound great with any music and it all depends what you're putting them through. Highly recommended. :icon14:

It's easier to hit and track people. Noticed the difference most on the flickshots. A lot easier to just hit people instead of taking the time to aim for them.. If you get what I'm trying to tell you.

I still have my MX500, it's been great for 2 years now. I'll probably go for the 518 when I upgrade, which I may have to do as my mouse wheel acts funny sometimes.

I think for certain games, the sensitivity changes could really help. Like in BF2, hop in a tank and you have to pick your mouse up like 4 times to turn 360 degrees. Just bump the sensitivity up and it'll feel great.

Plus for slower games than I think it'd help for sniping vs closer combat. is just a little too quick though to keep shifting sensitivity while mid-game.

Anyone else get problems with flimsy mousemats moving around? Any suggestions for something good to keep this stuck in place?
Also, what in your opinion is the best mousemat for precision? I wanted an icemat but some say don't bother. Do they really make much difference or is it all hype? Is the allsop as good as it gets for precision? Is there life after death? Will sam and julie get married, and wi..

Who knows.... It's prolly by preference. I have a formica counter top, so I don't need a mouse pad

I can recommend the MX518, it's the best mouse out there. The MX1000 is waay too big and clumsy for my taste. For a mousmat, use a vinyl cutting mat - it beats any mousmat.

That's what I experienced also when I went from MX500 to MX510. And again even more from MX510 to MX518.

I have an MX510 and an Icemat. The MX510 is much better than my old Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer and my MX1000. I sold the MX1000 due to its weight. Such a pain in the wrist if you are a gamer who uses low sensitivity. Although I like my MX510, I'm thinking about switching to a Razer. The shape, weight, and responsive mouse buttons are perfect for me.

The Icemat is a nice pad but it isn't worth the money. Also, it has to be cleaned quite often and if you dont you will notice a lot of inconsistancy due to the fine surface. When I built my friend's rig I picked up an MX510 and one of these pads for him and it works great. (And subsequently realized that I should have went with the cheaper alternative.)
